My New Year’s Resolutions
1) I just recently bought an acoustic guitar and a cord buddy which makes it apparently super easy for you to learn even if you are a complete beginner. I would like to be able to play at least 3 songs this year. I don’t have big ambitions when it comes to play the guitar. I look at it as a 10 years long learning process and a great killer of boredom. What they hooked me on at the Guitar centre was this one sentence:
“This guitar is a beautiful thing that will become a vintage one day and you can pass it on to your children.”
With this romantic picture in my mind I pulled out my wallet and came up with this New Years resolution.
2) Save up money for the mountain bike that I want and go for long rides every weekend and explore California. I love being out and active with beautiful nature around and I haven’t really seen much from California. Im sure that our dogs would love it too. There are so many awesome bike trail all around here, I can’t wait to start exploring
3) I want to start learning and practicing yoga again. I used to go to yoga classes a lot in the past, and I kind of miss it and I feel like it would be really good for me.
4) I want to start thinking and taking a deep breath and maybe even counting to ten before I start acting. Maybe the yoga practice might help me
5) Taking more pictures and learning more about photography.
6) I want to help as many warriorz as possible to reach their fitness goals.
What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Is any one of them about your fitness?
Back To All Posts
Something tells me your going to have a lot of guys offering to tutor you. :)
my new year's resolution? have a body like Zuzana's :-)
To finish a 1/2 ironman! Huge goal but I can do it :)
All my new year resolutions are about fitness and studies! I want to be as fit as you but i'm still in the process of losing body fats.. I do your workout almost every day including zwow and bodyrock.tv i really love your workout. But i still have a lot to work on my diet, it is just so hard for me to not eat sweet things..
To continue inspiring moms and sharing your workouts with them! Good luck on learning to play the guitar. =)
But i have tried to eat dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate, eat almonds and cashews instead of cookies, but sometimes i really just can't resist and i will still turn to some small cakes or ice cream. Sigh.
I want to get super fit and finally, completely lose my post preg fat (not much but geez it's hard work). I will also be completing my science degree this year (exercise and nutrition :) ) and I hope to have my own business up and running by the end of the year. Phew. Not too much to ask for? lol
Hey Zuzka! happy 2013! I wish I could train more strategically, strengthen my body and my mind to do martial arts. I also did yoga a while and I would like to return, I need to stretch and relax my muscles. I want to travel the world more and more countries know. I hope to finish my studies and continue working. I hope this year is full of challenges. Best wishes. Greetings from Argentina! Gonza
Great !! Music is a really good choice .. It will fill your life with more happiness !! Best regards and Happy New Year !!
When you teach, you learn and I think it'd be a brilliant idea to not only post ZWOWs but do a yoga routine during the week as well! Just to help us stretch and relax after workouts! Love it, love you and happy new year to you and my fellow Warriors!!! Xoxo Carly
check out Kacey Musgraves for a little inspiration on your new baby : )
To get back into shape:. You inspired and helped me alot but I stopped and lost my motivation.. I wish I can have my tone body back again..
I've never been big on resolutions as they seem to get push to the side after a few weeks. But I think all your are do able and 5 and 6 are near to my heart. Photography is a wonderful thing to explore and pausing to breath is what life is all about. I have friends who teach guitar and music. Both very much in line with your other resolutions. I hope you keep your resolutions thru the year and they reward you. --Chris
Hi! Yes, I have lots of those, :) , but they all add up to, be back on my feet, be a better self, learn new things everyday, and to get the body that I always wanted, and thanx to you Zuz I am sure I will get there... Thank you ! ;) happy new year!
I don't do resolutions, but I have been learning to play the guitar too, since August. I look forward to hearing your progress! One thing we did this year was put into a jar a piece of paper describing the good things that happened to us this year. We started in in July, so we had a few, it was great to read all the great things that happened to us last year! Can't wait to start counting my blessings for this year!
My fitness resolution is to get these tone and lean arm and abs muscles. And thanks to you I believe that is possible! Kisses and hugs! Happy New Year!
My 2013 resolutions, first is not to miss my workout routine at least 5x a week. 2nd start training myself into cycling to start a home then sign up to a group to ride for at least 50-100 miles. Lastly, balance my life, work, workout schedules and time for my hubby & friends. :)
TO IMPROVE MY FITNESS LEVEL AND SINCE I DISCOVERED YOUR SITE -WHICH IS SUCH AN INSPIRATION-I THINK I WILL GRADUALLY REACH MY GOALS. HAPPY 2013 TO YOU AND ALL THE WARRIORZ'S OUT THERE.
I do not have resolutions but I made a small pocket bag which I'm going to fill with small papers on which there will be written all the good things that will happen to me in 2013 :) I also used to play the guitar and I loved it :) I'm sure you will love it too, it is like yoga in the music field :) And talking about yoga, I started to do one with Bob Harper, the best yoga training I have ever had, you shoud definitely try :)) You won't regret :) Can''t wait to see your pictures as well, I love watching photos :)) and as I probably never will go to USA, you might want to make me happy with your pictures of your place where you live :)) Have a nice day Zuzi.
Hi Zuzanna, nice resolutions and a beautiful guitar you've got! You could combine some of your resolutions by going out to cache: you can explore, be outside in nature and you'll definitely see beautiful landscapes to make pictures of. It's great for the dogs as well! I'm not an advertiser, it's just a suggestion. See: www.geocaching.com Good luck!
love your New Years resolutions :) I fell in love with photography :) so one of mine resolutions is a to learn more about photography as well, and save money for some more professional camera finally:) and of course, to dedicate more time to myself, especially concenring exercising:) have a nice day Z :)
My new year resolutions to run marathon at the end of this year! Your workouts are great help with my training for the marathon :-)
I would have been convinced myself on buying that guitar too with that killer line they gave on inheriting it :P. For this year, I wanna take control of my thesis :/, nurture my friends and family :D, and acquire a hobby. As for my fitness, I want to continue recovering my body from a horrible contraceptive implant and an undiagnosed hypothyroid problem that made me gain almost 15 kilos :/. I have already lost 6 kilos of fat since last march :D, and I am happy with my shiny new muscles. Still, need to go from 85 kilos to 77 (I am a 1.77 tall latina, and most of those kilos are in the hips and the legs :P), so I have to keep it up. Thanks for the workouts and the advice. I have started taking some vegan protein with bcaas and is also helping me on recovering from workouts and keeping muscles.
To help you with guitar go to www.justinguitar.com and buy his beginner course. Its cheap and you will learn tons. For photography, try fellow youtuber "thatnikonguy". Free and very good instruction and help to improve your photography. My goal is to do your workouts 5 days per week.
Oh my goals are a little than yours Zuzka. First I want to workout every day, want to eat healthy every day. I want to practice more with my Flute and my violine, want to go mountainbiking when weather is better, I want to find a job that I like more, I want to play volleyball better and I want to be the fittest and best Wife I can be, because I married a few days ago the best man in the universe :-))
Continue to be healthy and fit and get stronger and leaner AND to quit drinking. Not that we do it a lot...but more then we should.
Nice resolutions Zuz! Your guitar's beautiful. I can't play the guitar myself and I do think (as well) that it's a basic thing everyone should know how to (play a simple instrument like that) :) Always: continuing on evolving on my fitness until I'm happy with my body, strength and overall fitness achievements! And keep firm on my Primal diet! I never do many real resolutions because it's a lot of pressure and I don't want to get disappointed myself (if I would do resolutions I almost for sure would end up failing, just because of the pressure). I prefer to focus on a daily basis on accomplishing small things at a time :) Oh, I can't ride a bike either (that would be a good resolution too) XD. I love Photography as well. Wish you all the best luck with your New Year resolutions Zuz! :)
Play guitar is one of my goals too this year. But first I am having singing lessons. Just love to sing and now I am improving my vocals. Also keep a good shape is another resolution. Happy New Year Zu! I am sure you'll do great this year.
my resolutions is 1 make my own house and this year i will, 2 play and practice more the guitar .and moreeeeeee thingsss
Here's an article that will teach you 3 chords that a lot of popular songs use http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2012/12/11/how-to-play-the-guitar/ and here's a video showing those 3 chords in action! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5pidokakU4I
Yamaha makes great guitars. I've taught lots of friends to play guitar, and here's a tip - learn to play something you love. Like most things in life, if you start with what you love you will greatly increase your chances for "success" because you will have fun:)
You an I have very similar goals. My #1 resolution this year is to use my camera more, I want to be a fashion/portrait photographer, but the lack of confidence holds me back. So I've decided to just go for it this year. Thought it's not a resolution I really want to get a guitar and learn how to play. resolution #2 is to control my temper a bit so I think thinking and counting might help me haha. Anyway good luck with your resolutions. I hope you can complete them all by December :)
I want to get better sleep in 2013 than i did last year ;) Also get more fit and get my skin back in order.
Hey Zuzka, can you possibly add an RSS button to your site? Thanks!
My first resolution is to make you read this post and asking you to make your store also shipping to Europe ;) :D First resolution "Done" :)
http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2012/12/11/how-to-play-the-guitar/ This is all you need Zuzka, goodluck xxx ;-)
My resolutions are to do four zWows a week, lose those stubborn last 10 lbs; and spend more time outside with my family.
2013 is one of the years where I will make some mayor changes to some areas of my life. I will start by being more honest about situations, things and negative habits I poses. Further I will be distancing myself from people that do not value me as a person, or that have negative intentions. I will learn to say no and take more responsibility for my own actions and feelings. I also will work extra hard to achieve my dreams when it comes to education and health/fitness. And I will go the extra mile for those whom I love and cherish ♥ Here is to a wonderful new year! Cheers ;)
My biggest New Year's resolution is to conquer my fear and try to be brave in everything that I do. I want to stop being afraid and anxious about everything and learn how to relax and let life go on.
I have not set a New-years goal in years because I am always learning a new skill or trying to experience something different in my life :) The world has so much to offer and the internet is full of guides and information that cost nothing. One moment I could be baking cookies. The next moment I could be experimenting with the the wireless transmission of electricity. I wish you well in learning the guitar an all your other ventures Z :) I think you picked a good mix of skills that should keep you well entertained :D
I'll be running three spartan races to get my trifecta medal, two half marathons, and at least one Ragnar. I also need to get more involved in church life, helping others and of course be a better dad and leader for my family.
1.) I am going to really focus on finishing my degree it's alot of hard work but I will try and be more focused. 2) I am also going to try and learn to play the guitar that I bought 4 years ago. I am taking a free online course through coursera Apr 22, along with many other courses. 3) I am going to give myself to volunteer work with the parks system, I wanted to do more volunteer stuff last year but never found the time. This year I will try and do volunteer work at least once a month. 4) once a month my husband and I will learn a new skill. For Jan we will learn to snowboard and look into xskiing. I will strive to do all 4 but at a minimum I hope to at least learn the guitar again lol
Zuzana get that mountainbike it's awesome! My huskies love to pull it. But I love riding it by myself as well, getting all muddy :)
1)I want to save money and buy mountain bike as well!!!! explore the nature at Taipei, Taiwan^^ 2) Do the Zwow workout; being fit!! being Warriorz (able to sumbit before after picture!!) 3) Eat healthy
My goal is to get myself to CrossFit at least 4 times a week like I used to; my schedule has been forcing it down to one time a week if I'm lucky. I need to make time and get back to what I love. Of course, I'll keep up with my ZWOWs, too. :)
Hi Zuzka. I see our resolution are pretty much the same! If you are not planning of taking yoga classes (which is, I think, a good option) I suggest that you take a look at Rodney Yee's ''moving toward balance, 8 weeks of yoga with rodney yee'' because everything is well explained for all levels of yoga practitionners (absolute beginners toexperienced) and it is a great book to start a home practice. I wish you a happy new year and best of luck with evrything.
Wow Zuzi i am soo glad you are back!!! I have followed your workouts from long time ago but since you left the other site i began following other programs but it wasnt the same. Thank God you are back :)
Zuzka: Reading your resolutions, I couldn't help but notice that you stated that you "wanted" certain things. Everyone wants a million dollars, but very few accomplish that. I say this because "wanting", although a first step, is in and of itself inadequate to accomplish the end result. Wanting is weak, not powerful. Stating what will occur is like throwing your hat in the ring and then having to go in after it and retrieve it. It is a commitment to the end result, and sets in motion those thoughts and events that lead to a successful outcome. Wanting exists in the realm of wishing. Nothing wrong with that, but rarely are any positive results produced that way. Perhaps you and others would like to discover more powerful and effective ways of stating your resolutions, ways that will produce results instead of merely blowing into the wind.
1) To get back in shape! (I've just had baby 4 weeks ago. Birth was painful, I had stitches but I must admit exercise helps a lot in recovery. Slowly working on my abs :). I love watching and reading all your posts, you always motivate me. You are so inspiring Zuzka. You are absolutely beautiful, inside and out. Thank you for your hard work and dedication towards all of us ZWarriorz ;) 2) Save up for big lens camera 3) Go to Paris And one question for you beautiful lady. Are we going to be able to buy ZCUT in the UK (or will shipping to Uk be available) ?
To be a better writer; I am a copywriter now so I don't do much writing for myself. Travel more; last year I travelled a lot between New York and Florida and it made me hungry for more. Eat healthier; I workout every day but my body hasn't gotten where I want it to you yet and I know it's a diet issue. Also I would like to dance more often, I used to be a ballet dancer and I miss the practice.
Those are some good resolutions. 1. Take a vacation 2. Eat healthier. Less processed food and refined sugar.
My new years resolution is to finally get pregnant, so I can go back to zuzkas workouts. :) Not working out sucks!!
I want to keep doing your workouts, hopefully 4-5 times instead of 2-3/week. Get back into a regular schedule of yoga/bellydance. Completely get back to a plant based diet. Im going to start my own business as fitness nurse and maybe a doggy respite/walking business mainly for senior citizens who want to keep thier friends. One huge thing I have done is make the oath with my wonderful boyfriend to give up alcohol. That is a huge step for me as it always holds me back from my goals. Love you Zuzanna you have changed my life!!!
My New Year's Resolutions: Stop being angry. Start being happy. Write a better story of my life. Through exercise and diet get to 130 lbs - and stay there. Finally, be better today than yesterday.
1. Continue doing progress in studying Japanese (maybe a month in Tokyo would help in April, if my boss agrees). 2. Climb 3 mythic mountains: Mt Fuji, Elbrouz and Aconcagua (2012 was great in terms of alpinism, I wish it could continue). 3. Continue doing crazy workouts with my friends from fitness club - thanks for many ideas for exercices we could find on your site ! ;) 4. Continue travelling worldwide and learning more about countries, history, nature and people. I love my job. 5. Get well trained and be in perfect shape to succeed in the Verbier Trail (61km) this summer.
Hi Zuzka! I started your wokouts in September 2011 and I got quite lean till the end of that year. Then my mum passed away and several months after that my dad too.I stopped exercise and I treated myself with food and treats I used to love as a child to bring back the emotions and memories. I have gained 10kg since then. But I am strong enough (emotionally and psychologicaly) to start your workouts now and sustain new bodyweight. To sustain weight is more difficult than to loose weight. And my New Years resolutions? I keep it simple. 1)Concentrate on my degree 10% 2)Do not be late 3)Loose 10kg and sustain new bodyweight 4)Start/learn to meditate 5) Be positive I like your resolutions. Most of them are ( used to be my hobbies), but now I do not have time for them as I have my own family + studying degree. I wish you good luck and Happy New Year***
I ment to concentrate on my studies for 100% :-)
Have abs and to stay healthy and make more people healthy too:)
1. Surf as much as possible 2. Eat as clean as possible 3. Get ripped like Zuzka!
1.Get a bike and start using it as an alternative means of transport at least 3 times a week. 2.Improve my eating habits 3.Get back into yoga and meditation 4.Be a better daughter and sister 5.Get my pilots license. 6.Use ZWOW to build a fab mind and body. And share your movement with others:)
You never gave me the impression that you are the kind who likes video games :-), but if you do want to learn to play the guitar on your own, you may want to check out Rocksmith http://rocksmith.ubi.com/rocksmith/en-US/home/
My really first resolution for 2013 is a spiritual one... i'm bouddhisme... and i want to meditate and learn more about it. my second one its to get in shape to participate at a Spartan Race this summer in Quebec city... i hope i'll be able to!
My new year's resolution is to stretch more... And now it's only been a month and I can already do front splits if I warm up properly first! :) I'm very thankful to you Zuzka for everything you have done for me and many others. Your ZWOWs give me so much energy and confidence, I've never felt more alive!
I don't know where you are in California (I'm from the LA area) but my favorite yoga studio is Santa Monica Yoga in Santa Monica. There are also other great studios around. I like the smaller ones. 100 people in a class freaks me out. I have back issues that can beecome quite serious and yoga has helped me in many, many ways. Enjoy!
