Be The FitSh*t – Coffee Talk

 | Blog  | 74 Comments

Hey guys,

I did my best to talk about some of the topics you’ve been asking me about. Thank you again for leaving your comments and questions. If you didn’t hear me talking about your question this time, it’s possible I have already replied to you in the comments on the previous Coffee Talk, and if not, I might be covering your topic next time.

This video is dedicated mostly to Intermittent Fasting, (if you want more info about what I was talking about, check out The Every-Other-Day Diet: The Diet That Lets You Eat All You Want (Half the Time) and Keep the Weight Off by Krista Varady) I also share 5 healthy snacks you can make in less than 5 minutes, and also a simple tip for pull up modifications. Then there are some of the sponsorships mixed in – mostly the free clothes I haver received lately. I hope you’ll have fun watching and I hope you have more questions for me to cover next time!

By the way the winner of my last week’s Giveaway is an Instagram account with the handle @UBRodriguez  – total dude by the way. This couldn’t have been more random 🙂 haha. Oh well, dude’s getting pink bedazzled sneakers from Pink Ivy.

This week’s Giveaway is sponsored by versa-band.com who sent me their base kit for $114 to give to one of you lucky guys. It’s a portable exercise equipment you can hook into your doorway or on a tree and do bunch of bodyweight exercises with it. Just remember, you have to have an Instagram account and follow me @ZuzkaLight – find the Giveaway post and follow the instructions. It’s really simple. I will be picking the winner in my next week’s Coffee Talk the same way I did in this one. Good luck!

P.S. Anyone of you lives in Hawaii? Jesse and I are going there for vacation at the end of this month for my birthday.

Great coffee talk , very informative, one question, I am pretty lean and want to gain more muscle , I try to eat lots of protein thought out the day , do you think this meal plan or IF would be right for me, still need to shed some fat, not much, I’m 115lbs 5/5. I do workout with you everyday, I joined the zgym on August 11,2016 and only missed 3 days due to a herniated disc in my neck, and I do keep up most of the time😅 I am showing so much more muscle tone and would like to say thanks for pushing me, I’m 45 and wondering if I need to amp up my protein intake, any thoughts would be appreciated ,

    Thank you!!

      Hi Darlene,

I can’t tell you what diet would be the best for you based on you height and weight. Also I can’t possibly suggest more protein intake based solely on your age if I don’t even know what your daily diet looks like. We all have different biological make up and even if you and I eat the same foods, we might react to them differently. The only way you can find out what works for you is to start playing with different foods. It’s really not that hard to figure it out and I will talk about that in the new coffee talk.

Thanks , I kinda figured you didn’t have a crystal ball, lol! I look forward to your coffee talk, What I seem to be doing is picking things from you and my own diet and mixing them together, you have brought me a lot more knowledge on the subject than I ever knew , so thank you!! Your a life changer!!!

Hi Zuzka, Thanks for the great coffee talk! I was wondering, what are your thoughts on having the Bullet proof coffee as post-workout breakfast? Also, I’d like to know about having more carbs in the evening because is that when I crave the most. I’m totally fine without before dinner but during that is the problem. I’d love to hear from you! Thank you in advance! xoxo

Hawaii is so beautiful, enjoy your visit! I’ve never been to Kauai, but I love the Big Island and Maui. They both have nice hiking and National Parks (those are musts for my vacations). 🙂

The only forms of IF I have ever done is the accidental type, as in, I was so busy I didn’t have time to eat all day. Also, when I’m sick, sometimes my body doesn’t want food. Like yesterday (I just came down with a cold) I had no appetite, and today barely an appetite.

Hi, have you ever had a message board for members on the site. I know we can kind of communicate in these comments. But it would be great to have specific threads for members who are working on similar goals, a challenge, body part, or are working on cleaning up their diet…

Such a great coffee talk and you look stunning, glowing really 🙂 And those pants with the stripes! I am not a huge fan of the cut out see through portions (on you amazing but maybe not for me!) but the stripes are amazing!!! Great information on the fasting too, maybe can get hubby on board. Do you happen to know when you may launch your meal plan….one two three months away…..just a guesstimate would be good, thanks! I may have mentioned this before but I think a really interesting thing for a coffee talk would be to show us your journey in a few pictures. From where you started to where you are now in terms of fitness and the different diets you have tried and how they changed your body at the time. Those who have been following for years have seen it but the newer members haven’t seen all of your changes and progress 🙂 It really is amazing!! Thanks for all you do 🙂

There were times when I was a little bit thicker, then I got slimmer again, but I have never looked horribly out of shape. I was out of shape in terms of strength and energy. When I first started with regular exercise and blogging about fitness (about ten years ago), I just quit smoking and couldn’t do a single push up.

You will love Kauai! It is the most beautiful and lush. I am on Maui…if you make it over to Lahaina I will get you hooked on surfing! 🙂
I am really enjoying how challenging all your workouts are. You have me super motivated to get to a point where I feel strong in all the moves. I have plenty to work on!

great coffee talk, thanks! I’d like to ask sister warriors and Z if she can tell us
which mat she uses. Sos, please! I have a hard wood floor like the one in Z’s home and my yoga mat is slipping all over the place. It’s making me nuts! I have a Jade™ mat, well broken-in
so I love it, I clean it and the floor is clean, what is up? I can do most of the w/outs on the wood but I really need it for any work with kneeling. HELP! Thank you and lots of love…”don’t miss a day!”

      Hi Vilda,

You can find all her excercise equipment including the mat if you go into the workout schedule for the week, she has a link there to her equipment she uses. I actually had been wondering about her mat also , it seems to take a lot of abuse , I saw it in the link and bought the same one she has. It does not move and it is very durable. Happy shopping!!!

    Hello Zuzka,

Thank you for the nice coffee talk and the sound advice! You asked about suggestions for future coffee talks, I’d like to make one. I’d like to have more info about breathing. I know the breath out when you force and the breath in when you “relax” de movement. But I don’t exactly understand the breathing with the kettle bell. I’ve watched your explanation about it, but I’m not sure I understand the “why” and the “how”. If you could talk more about it and other kind of breathing, I’m sure it would interest other members.

Thank you again for your dedicated work

    Catherine

Hi Zuzka, you are just perfect, you help me so much with my training (I’ve been running and climbing a lot, but with you I’m much more effective)! I’m looking forward to you diet plan, I really need it, I don’t know, how should I manage my food for have a lot of energy for my training and also gain weight loss.
Now, I recommend you to my mom, she finished bunny slope program, is good way to follow starter and strength program? Isn’t to hard for 50 years women, which run a little, ride a bike a little, she is not some big fitness women, if you understand.. And what she should do then? Low impact series?

Thank you so much for everything!

I would say give the Cardio & Strength Kickstarter program a chance. Many people underestimate their capabilities and for a woman her age it’s beneficial to do some jumping (there’s not too much in that program always) because it will improve her bone strength. She can substitute for Low Impact workouts on days she doesn’t feel like doing any jumping.
