Just to add to my original answer, it takes about 3 days for the order to process. I love Zuzka’s pre-workout mix and re-ordered some on Wednesday. Saturday I got an email that it was shipped. It’s Priority Mail so I should have it by Wednesday at the latest.

AWWWWW ZUZKA! Thank you for answering my question. I feel so special now. Yes, You are super organized compared to me lol. Thank you for that amazing coffee talk. I really enjoyed it. I have another question for you. How do you feel about botox and fillers? Will you ever do them as you age? You look incredibly beautiful and by no means do you ever need it but I would like to hear your thoughts on that topic.

Thank you for the AWESOME coffee talk as usual!!! I really enjoyed this one! And I’ve made ice cream like that one from one of your old recipes.;-)
Good luck with school too! I’m very excited to hear more about that.

Oh I almost forgot, I have a question for you but I’m not sure if it’s too personal so don’t feel obligated to answer. Are you planning to have kids soon? Just curious ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Z,
What do you think about creatine? Is it good? Any bad effects?

I loved this Coffee Talk! Actually, I love them all, but I enjoyed this one even more than usual. โ˜บ๏ธ The Terra Core looks amazing! Zuzka, on a sort of related note to postural therapy, what do you think about the Pilates reformer? The reason I ask is my hips and pelvis rotate out of alignment all the time. I’m hyper mobile in all my joints, but it’s the biggest problem with my pelvis, especially because I’m a competitive equestrian. When my hips are out of balance, it sends confusing messages to my horse and messes with my balance and how I use my legs. I’ve started taking Pilates classes a couple times per week, where we mainly use the reformer, but we use other equipment, too. I’ve only been going for about 3 weeks, but it seems to be helping me with hip and pelvis stability. I rarely have pain when my hips are rotated, unless the rotation is extreme (sometimes they rotate by as much as 5 inches, then get stuck there. I spend a lot of time seeing my chiropractor!). Would your postural therapy for hips help prevent this rotation? Is there anything else in particular you’d recommend?

      Hi Allison,
I don’t know exactly what you mean by hip rotation (maybe legs outwards because you ride horse?) ,but I can tell that I have had pelvic rotation for more than 20 years (spine being the axis, the hip bones instead of being at 9 and 3 oclock are rather 4 and 10 oclock) I started a customized Egoscue postural therapy and I am bluffed how fast the adjustement goes. Unfortunately I started during vacation where I could stick to daily practice and now back to work I can’t do them daily and feel the slack, but it gives be assurance it really works.
totally go for it, you can start with Z, or go for customized plan (go on Egoscue website)

Laila, by hip rotation I meant exactly what you described๐Ÿ™‚–my hips bones are usually at 2 and 8 rather than 3 and 9. Sometimes they’re much worse though. So yes, it’s a rotated pelvis that causes my hips bones to rotate as well. That’s great to hear that the Egoscue therapy works so well for you! I will definitely check it out. In the meantime, I will do Zuzka’s postural therapy religiously. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It’s nice to hear from someone who has experienced similar issues.

Hi Allison, thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ I think the Pilates Reformer is a great equipment that can help you to put your posture into it’s functional alignment while strengthening your muscles around the hyper mobile joints. No matter when or where you might be experiencing pain, the postural therapy routine I have for hips will help you to restore the proper hip position. I suggest you do that routine as often as you can.

Thank you, Zuzka ๐Ÿ™‚I did your postural therapy for hips last night, and I’m going to keep doing it regularly. I’m so happy you have those routines available for us. Thank you for all you do!

Another question related to postural therapy and time management…. How often do you do a postural therapy workout? What is considered “regularly”? Is it once a week, every day or once a month? I can’t seem to manage more than your short workouts in my daily routines but would like to start incorporating more postural therapy time so need to work towards it. Do you also only work on the “troublesome areas” or do you rotate through the total body routines?

Every day or every other day at least if you do experience pain during any activity. Once you get rid off the pain and can be pain free for 2 days even while doing your workouts, then you should stick to the full body postural therapy routine for prevention which you should do again at least every other day for prevention.

    Hi Z!
What do you think about protein right after a workout? My crossfit crazy husband gives me a hard time about not having a protein shake after a workout. Do I REALLY need protein as soon as I am done? If I do, could I just have some tuna or something instead of a shake?

Btw, my 1, 3, and 5 year old kids are big fans. They love when you use the slides and run to put on their socks to make up slide “workouts.” Gives me time to cool down. ๐Ÿ˜œ

      Hi Lauren,
Yes, Zuzka is a believer in post-workout protein, and the research very much supports it. You really want to have a protein and a simple carb within 30 minutes of a workout to maximize nutrient absorption. The physiology behind it is that the quick intake of protein promotes faster tissue recovery from your workout. As for the carbs, when you workout you burn the sugar stored in your muscles (glycogen). When you eat simple carbs after a workout those sugars get broken down quickly and sent to muscles to rebuild glycogen stores used during your workout. It’s the principle behind Zuzka’s Workout Earned Meals. One of the best post-workout meals is a simple glass of chocolate milk. The ratio of carbs to protein is perfect for a Zuzka workout (your husband would need more than that for an intense Crossfit workout). You could do tuna in a white bread sandwich or tortilla wrap as well. Hope that makes sense.

          Zuzka, my deepest apologies.

I should have broken my answer down into at least two paragraphs identifying the sources for the information I was referencing. I can see where my brain was going with the answer, and I can see what you’re saying as well.

Honestly, for as much as I love your body of work I hate knowing what I wrote elicited a correction from you. But on the flip side, it’s awesome to know you read my answer.

      Hi Lauren,

Actually I do not believe that it’s important and I also think that it depends on the individual. The trend of drinking a protein shake right after training is based on a theory that has spread across the fitness world, but it’s just a theory that actually doesn’t take an individual into consideration. Latest research shows that your body absorbs nutrients through out the day and use them for energy or muscle repair. Protein is important but I don’t believe that a precise timing is crucial.

BECAUSE of this coffee talk, the need for postural therapy totally stopped the video for me, as it spoke to my common sense.
thank you so much for taking the TIME and putting out that EFFORT and LOVE that you always do for us, even in these key elements of physical health.
I don’t do anything common, but common sense seems to be my guide… hm.. I don’t quite know how to explain that ๐Ÿ™‚
ANYWAY – my hips have been giving me grief for about 9 years and I can’t afford a medical EXPERIMENT, or PRACTICE session -> AGAIN thus <-, my TOTAL appreciation for the love you show to everyone through videos like these.
I am going to DO the hip one, every day, for a week and see what happens. I WON'T be stopping at a week, but I want to report to you after a week.
I did that 550 workout today and my right hip has a hop in it, now.. hahhahhaha ;D .. I have to be ready for "Boot Camp" on Thursday with a 25-yr old, and my 54-yr old frame has to be there in totality, not just spirit.. (what's that..? ) Last time, with my 25-yr old daughter and another 25-yr old friend and a 30+ one, I was able to beat that entire group of at least 20 people, in a 10-round HIIT, time challenge (one hour). I was COMPLETELY SHOCKED that I was the one, on my first time there, to beat that clock. I made 9.5 rounds in one hour. .. Because of my daughter's having to do stairs every day at work, HER TEAMWORK is what brought us to the finish line, 4 weeks ago. So, I have to do this hip routine tonight and keep going, Z…
THANK YOU, always… you're amaZing for a purpose and we are ALL SOOOOO GLAD we found you!!
much love and respect, Z ๐Ÿ™‚
