Well…where is the coffee talk? This one should be named ads talk…there was not topic at all instead only showing things and making ads to the companies. I am surprised!

I thought I shared tips on how to shop and save money, how to get more flexible using deep tissue massage balls, what vitamins I take, what recipe you can make with avocado mayo… There’s plenty I shared this video. I’m sorry if you expected something else, and if you did maybe you can let me know what would you like me to talk about. I’m feeling a little bit of judgment from you because I talk about products and service that might be useful to some of my viewers. It might not be something that you’d like to see or hear, but the challenge of making these videos is that it’s not a dialog and I can’t read your mind to know what would be interesting for you to watch. If you do have any questions for me, or ideas on how to make these videos more interesting for you, please share it in the comments here.

I enjoyed this coffee talk. I appreciate that you recommend quality products and services, as well as the opportunity to win free stuff and great discounts. I joined Thrive last year because of your previous review, and I have been happy with the service. By the way, there was plenty of useful information in this video.

I thought there was a lot of information in this coffee talk. The information on how to use the massage balls is great. (I’m a massage therapist and I teach foam rolling for Trigger Point Performance.) It doesn’t matter if someone uses those specific massage balls or others. The point is to use them and you clearly demonstrated how. The recipe looked amazing and I will be trying it tonight. I’m so excited. The information on Thrive Market was interesting. I’ve been wondering what it is and how it works, so now I know. It’s still out of my price league, so I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. The recipe for the chai tea smoothie was good. I don’t have the Fairy Blends tea, and can’t really see spending $20 on a bag of tea, so I substituted with some rooibos chai tea that I had. Still came out great!

As a fan and follower, I’m always curious to see the products that you are using, even if they don’t fit my lifestyle or budget. I can always adapt or improvise. Don’t get discouraged Zuzka. You can’t please everyone all the time. It seems like you’re taking the website in new directions, and I’m excited to see the changes. I think they’re great. Stay true to yourself and your vision and what you have to offer. Some people will always complain. Those who truly support you, and the value and services you provide, will continue to do so.

If you really want to try and please everyone, maybe do a few coffee talks like this, and then sit down and have a “chat” with everyone, as some people seem to prefer. Alternate between the two kinds. I love both, so no complaints from me!

Well said. I agree with your comments and I also like both styles of coffee talks. I think it is fun to get a peek of Zuzka’s life outside of the gym because she’s so down to earth and relatable. I especially like it when Jesse is in the videos. They are so cute together 😍.

Hi Zuzka…of course you cannot read my mind and videos is not a dialog, I understand it…You are right I am judging the video called as “coffee talk” based on the previous videos I have watched here in past. You used to pick up many questions and used to reply those questions, showing what you were doing and your daily life, your house, etc. That was interesting not only for me but for everybody! I dont know about others opinion but I gave my personal feeling about this video. I kept waiting for some personal talk and I felt there was only marketing…where to buy, what to use to be flexible, your vitamins and the mayo…everything you need to buy…you have much more to share with us and you know it. I really do not need to explain further because I am sure you will get me. We like to be with Zuzka not with Zuzka products…you could share with us what is not required to spend money to get…that would be really awesome. See you and take care.

Fernanda,I thought the same from last time already, but didn’t want to share my thoughts . Good for US people which are lucky for give aways, and the partnering companies. I am not sure what I would like to hear in these coffee talks. I prefer the Vlogs, to see what Z is doing outside of the workouts.

I agree with you Fernanda and I’m also a bit disappointed how the last few “coffee talks” turned out.

Dear Zuzka, we do not mean to be rude and I completely understand that you want to sell your own products. You’ve put a lot of hard work into it and I really hope it pays of!! I also know that you want the best for your fans and you wouldn’t promote something just to get some money out of it. However, the content of your coffee talks used to be so inspirational, funny, motivating.. and you actually used to give us helpful advice or just talk about deep topics… I really loved that. The content of your coffee talks is a bit shallow lately and I’m not a big fan of the advertisment which is going on here. You’ve never talked of taking vitamin supplement before for example,…
According to topics you could talk about: Just make a facebook post and ask the community what they’re interested in. I’m sure you could make 20 coffee talks after that 🙂

I didn’t promote these products just to get some money… It’s not easy to come up with things to talk about into the camera to complete strangers and be entertaining. The products gave me something to talk about. This comment made me feel as if someone told me “common clown, entertain us! You suck!” So what kind of topics you want me to talk about? You can’t just say you want to be entertain by my coffee talks, and then tell me to go ask people on Facebook what they want to see…

I did not say you just want to get some money out of it, I wrote the exact opposite. And I definitively did not say you should “entertain” us or “you suck”. I’ve been following you for years now and I would never think something like that. I was just trying to give you constructive feedback, as I noticed some members feel the same way about the latest talks. Obviously it did not come across correctly and I’m sad that it made you so angry. I was only suggesting to ask the whole community (on fb or other social media) for topics, because you could choose a topic a lot of people are interested in and not only me. I personally would like to hear you talk about
insecuritys and how to deal with them. Do you have them too after becoming so Succesful? So basically something for the PMS series 🙂
Are you already pre/postnatal certified? Will there be a series (i know you don’t like that one too much) ok. And now a question which is not that common and I have no idea if many can relate to this. Its how to deal with very competitive people. Especially if they are part of your family or close friends. People who always want to be the best and make you feel bad about yourself in a specific situation e.g. sports, being the fastest or strongest,..

Again, I did not mean to be rude and I understand your reaction. You always try to please everyone and I really appreciate that.

Hanna, great questions! I have asked about the prenatal programme (there was a sneak-peak with Zuzka´s assistant a few months ago) several times but no answer. I assume Zuzka does not have time to answer EVERY question, which is really ok. I would just add a question about new kettlebell workouts, but the ADVANCED series, I have done all available workout more than 20 times, each workout, so I lost inspiration to do them again, to be honest, and I bought kettlebells just because Zuzka´s workout…but ok… I am still hoping for the changes…soon 😀

I think this coffee talk was more than informative and super useful regading advice about the massage balls because I have been doing regular stretches and I feel I hit a plateau some time ago. To be honest I do not know how to deal with it. I really think that trying these deep tissue massages would help. Thank you so much for that advice!

I don’t mind this format. You always get us some good freebies and deals and definitely include a lot of information as well Zuzka! I can’t imagine having to come up with ten minutes of content about my life to share with strangers on the internet, and you shouldn’t feel pressured to have to do that.

I think people like when you share personal stuff, but that is not the point of this website. I enjoy when you provide training and nutrition tips (that’s what we come here for!). I was interested to see what vitamins you take for example. Of course it’s fun to see what you’re up to in your life, and I do love seeing the doggies. But you don’t owe us anything – you obviously bust your butt on this website and give us way more than our money’s worth in terms of workouts and related content.

Anyway, a few ideas for future coffee talks:
            – Do you log your training or diet beyond what we see here? How? What do you record? I try to track my ZGYM workouts as well as runs but haven’t found the right format yet, and am trying to figure out what it makes sense to track. (For example, I am starting to think I should track stretching and cool down since it seems like all my aches and pain are directly related to not stretching after a workout.)
            – I’ve been reading a great book by Stacy Sims that talks about designing training and nutrition plans specifically for female physiology. There’s some fascinating information on how your menstrual cycle affects performance (both positively and negatively). Dr. Sims argues that because of our unique physiology (we are not just “small men”!) women need to increase carb intake a bit right before their period, and says that ketosis tends to work better for men and women should really not reduce carbs below ~130 g/day. Do you notice that your nutrition needs change over the month, Zuzka? Are you familiar with this argument? I do think it’s pretty interesting that most nutritional and sports physiology studies are only done on men, so there’s not a lot of good information out there for us women!
            – You mentioned somewhere in the comments that when you work out with ZGYM members jn person you sometimes see problems with their form. What do you think the most common offenders are for bad form in the ZYGM and how do we fix them? For me, it’s totally dropping my head during pushups when I’m tired…
            – Are there any sports you’re interested in getting better at? (Running or biking or skiing or obstacle course racing for example?)

Zu…I am really sorry if my comment caused any discomfort to you but you simply can not tell us that is not easy to talk into the camera to strangers because this is your job…you do thousands of workouts in front of the camera and you interact with us through the workouts, you have done it for years…so what is the difficulty now? I am not getting your point. No one is asking for entertainment. You created the coffee talk so what was your main objective when you decided to do it? Are you still following your objectives or perspectives changed? You started asking people on Facebook and here also about which topics you could talk about and what we are interested in listening about. So now you have to think about it and make your decisions about which type of coffee talk you want to do. We can not do anything except leave a comment to you. You control everything and you will decide what you want to share with us, the strangers, that follows you daily and do all the workouts with you daily, still we are nothing more than strangers! I am again surprised! See you and take care.

Z, I’d like to give you some encouragement. Before I do, I just want to ask the ladies who commented on the ads and the prenatal (and other topics) to please keep some perspective here. Your comments come across as harsh. You may not intend for them to be, but that they are interpreted as judgement.

Remember that this is a supportive community. If you feel someone close to you is in the wrong, it would be much more productive to offer encouragement and suggestions instead of telling them they are not living up to your standards. Z has always encouraged that you share your comments, even when you don’t agree with her. But I feel there is a way to do so that is more productive.

Also remember that Z is sharing her personal journey. She is blessed with a great work ethic and experience in terms of personal fitness and health. And she chose to share what she has learned and knows with her community. That may very well include products she loves, tried and doesn’t like or may be interested in herself.

As far as I am aware, she has never proclaimed to be what she is not. In fact, she is always careful to indicate that she gives her opinion only, and that it is our responsibility to be accountable for our own fitness and health journey. For example, I am not surprised that she hasn’t answered prenatal questions. She has not walked that journey yet. Yes, she may offer advice, but she is not required to. It would be the same for me insisting that she answers questions about body building or marshal arts as an example.

As for the entertainment aspect, I feel it is nice of her to share her life in the coffee talks, but you cannot insist that she is funny and entertaining. It is a very personal thing to put your life out there for the world to see. We may feel that we exercise with her daily and she is not a stranger, but to her, we are definitely strangers on a common sense level. I have never spoken to her directly in a dialogue, if I walk past her on the street she will not have a clue who I am. Even if I approached her and told her I am a follower, there is no guarantee that we will become BFFs instantly. It is unrealistic. So please understand that from her point of view, she is putting her personal life and feelings out into her community with some sense of vulnerability, something we have to respect.

Z, you’re doing a great job. It isn’t easy running a business and always keeping every customer happy. I do believe Fernanda, Hanna and Alex didn’t intend to upset you – although, they can definitely better their approach. And they are customers in your community just like the rest of us, they are welcome to follow other communities if this is not working for them.

Please don’t be discouraged when a few of your community members upset you. I know you will get to the point where you can carefully evaluate their input and you will then decide whether to incorporate what they have suggested or just completely ignore it and continue with what you’ve done so far.

I believe that I’m not alone when I say that I get tonnes of value out of every single post, video and workout you put out. I have no problem with ads, product evaluations or give aways. Even if you get money for it, I don’t mind at all. I have followed you long enough to know that your standards are high and that you will only promote those things that have truly added value to your life personally.

In my life personally, you are a great contribution. Your workouts and input has meant more to me than words can every really say. Don’t let anyone every make you doubt the value that you put out into the world!

If the questions about, as you said, prenatal (and other topics) are interpreted as judgement then the interpretaion is really, really wrong. It is a question as any other for the next coffee talk. Nothing else.

The questions of this type being harsh are far away from the truth, we love Zuzka, if we did not we would not be here.

Maybe this is the problem of written type of communication because it always leaves a space for personal interpretion which sometimes can turn out to be wrong.
No hard feelings, really and honestly. 🙂

edit: Do you realize Michell how judgemental the comment about me leaving the community just because I asked a question about the prenatal progeramme is? You know, I have feelings to and you now cherry picking my name and my question is harsh.

The questions you ask is not what is interpreted wrongly, it was the “but no answer” comment that I thought was judgemental. That is interpreted as “I keep asking and Z ignores me”. Also, remember that you said this in reply on a thread regarding someone’s dislike of what Z has offered as content.

The rest of your comment included a lot of good questions about kettlebell workouts and exercise motivation and you also said you found the content informative. Both you and Hannah have contributed by giving Z a suggestion for a pre/postnatal series. It is however still Z’s choice to decide whether she will comment or reply – as you have said, she may very well be just too busy and it’s nothing more than that.

You are correct in saying that written communication will always be a challenge to interpret as our emotion and voice tone is lost in translation. Your questions were great, honey. It was just the “no answer” comment that got me going.

You shouldn’t leave the community. I meant that people can follow additional communities that caters for specific needs whilst staying part of this community. I went back to see my comment on the “other communities” and admit it could have been said better – apologies, English is not my first language. I would have better been stated as: “they are welcome to follow additional communities if they need content that you are not catering for”.

You wouldn’t be here if this didn’t work for you. I don’t want you or anyone else to leave just because we don’t share the same opinion. In fact, it is great that we can work through our differences on a forum. And although it may be upsetting and uncomfortable, productive conflict resolution is how we grow in life.

We (me included) must take care when commenting in a thread like this because you know how things go – you can say 10 nice things and people will focus on the one small negative thing you say and forget the rest. I am the same. Some days I feel great and I can take someone’s disagreement and move on. Other days things have gone a bit rough and your mental resources are pushed to the limit – it then takes a small thing to push you over the edge.

In summary: I apologize for hurting your feelings. I took issue with the “but no answer” comment. Your questions and other comments were great.

Michelle, you brought this now to way another level, bit philosophical, but ok. 🙂
There is no need for you to repeat my questions (I mean the diligent analysis) because I know what I wrote 🙂

How You interpreted my question is really up to you, it does not have to the way other see it. This is why there is no need for you telling it on the behalf of Zuzka.

I am here only because of workouts and workout programmes and I assume it is quite clear from my questions. I have been following Z since mid 2009. and I actually LIKE the video, and I wrote that I do understand the lack of time to reply each comment, I honestly do.

I won´t go deep into philosophy because I don´t see the need to do that.
Apology accepted in any case. Thank you.

Dear Michelle, nice to read your long comment. It is interesting to read ‘they are welcome to follow other communities if this is not working for them’- as I do not want any misunderstanding…what do you mean by this sentence? Are you telling me, Hanna and Alex directly that we could leave Zgym now? You said we are customers but still we are strangers ‘in common sense level’…I am sorry but I do not agree with this. Just to repeat no one asked Zuzka to be funny or entertaining in her coffee talks. And I agree that sharing her personal life is her choice and we realized she decided to change the format of the coffee talks. That is fine. I agree my comment was very frank and it may sound as harsh so I apologize for that, that was not my intention. I will not stop expressing my true feelings about the website content…not because I am a customer…but because I believe Zuzka. I have been following her for years also and I am very grateful to her and everything she taught me. The workouts took my fitness to a new level. This does not mean I should just sit here and praise everything she does if I am not happy in my heart. People are different and that is really awesome. Nice you are happy with everything. See you and take care.

Fernanda, I have explained my position in a reply to Alex (with undue diligent analysis it seems) so it is unnecessary to explain it again. This is however worth repeating: I don’t want you to leave the community, not you or anybody. Not because there is a disagreement of opinion. I will never say that you should leave, this is not my platform or forum and therefore not my place to say so. You take care too.

Hi Zuzka…I do not have any job…and nothing is easy in life. Living is a challenge by itself. I am sorry for everything and maybe Michelle is right about looking for a community that works better for me. I will think about it. I am sorry. See you and take care.

              Hi Z!
Keep on doing what you’re doing, because the people who appreciate it will say “thank you” and that’s what will keep you sane! I have been a teacher and an elearning software developer for some time and I always need to make things for my learners…I do my best, and just like you, I design and make stuff I personally would find useful. I get validation and it makes me feel like what I do matters and that I should keep doing it. Just watch your website “Analytics” and I am 100% sure you will see many users benefiting from your workouts, many views and the Widget stats show even to us how much your promos are appreciated.
The thing with very negative feedback is that it stays with you – but this only means you CARE TOO MUCH! You being the positive person that you are, I hope with all my heart, every day you look in the mirror you have an internal monologue confirming to you what I see every day on your website: what a caring, strong, beautiful and GIVING person you are.
I know that when constructive criticism is given to me I am able to apply it if it is phrased in a positive way (why it’s called “constructive” not “destructive”). Instead of saying what the faults in something are…which is a highly subjective thing…constructive criticism implies suggesting improvements in a positive way: instead of “I don’t like X” constructive criticism is “I believe I would benefit from Y”….Which is not the feedback you got…Personally, I am unable at this point to make any constructive criticism claims – all looks great 😉

          Hey Zuzka!
I interpreted the comments the same way: “entertain me, I’m paying for it!” That is not your job, and I don’t expect that from you! If people want to be entertained they need to get a monkey, or watch cat videos. I hate to get into any discussions, but these demeaning comments seem so ridiculous to me. Sounds like you just need to know all the time what people will like.

Please remember that every video has its audience, and a lot of us want to see the exact thing you talk about. I like to see what you use, and make my own judgments whether or not I will buy those products. I appreciate your authenticity, and love your workouts and recipes!

Hi Zuzka! Do you have your pantry essentials list posted somewhere? I’ve been thinking of signing up with thrive because the grocery store near me doesn’t always have the healthier items I’m looking for and if they do, they are really expensive. How long does shipping usually take? Thanks in advance! -Lou

I LOVE Thrive!! I joined after your first post about them and have seen them promoted (not in a bad way!!) by other bloggers/foodie people on FB. I have never waited over a week and always compare all the products on my list with Costco, Whole Foods, etc and Thrive is almost always a lot cheaper. The exception is things you can buy in bulk at Costco. Worth every penny and I get so excited when the box comes and every item is carefully wrapped in Eco-friendly wrapping or spill proof bags/tape and a handwritten Thank You on the invoice. It’s truly a great company and you save way more than the membership fee costs! There, it sounds like I’m promoting but I’m not getting paid (reference to comments above), I’m just sharing my opinions about a service that other people may love too. 🙂

Hi Zuzka! Since you mention your new active wear, I have a question 🙂 how are the international shippings working? I would love to buy from your store but I’m afraid that it would get stuck in customs (maybe any non us members that have bought from the store can comment). Do you use something like eshopworld ( they take care of shipment and customs clearance for you and it works really well)? Thanks 🙂

It would be great to have a warehouse in Europe. The shipping costs plus the customs charges are crazy sometimes.. I would love to get some of Zuzka’s products but the extra charges are too high.

Hi Rosangela, I live in Canada and have bought many products from Zuzka’s store. The fat burner is one I order on a regular basis. I don’t know what they use but I’ve never had a problem with customs/duty etc. I place the order and it shows up aprx 1-2 weeks later 🙂

Thanks Nicole, just afraid because might be different for Europe… I’m sure there’s importation tax to pay and I really don’t want to have to go and find in which customs my order is, I’m sure it will be Paris except I live like 200 km away, lol

We ship from our warehouse. Packages do not get “stuck” on customs, but if you do order something internationally, you have to go pick it up to customs and every country charges their citizens different tax. So you always have to expect that you will pay something at customs.

Ok thanks Zuzka! I understand I would have to pay customs, what I meant is that sometimes once they get here, the communication between custom office and client is very bad and the amount you would have to pay is not clear upfront ( I’m in France and they love their paper work!). That’s why I mentioned eshopworld (sorry for publicity but maybe you could consider looking into them in the future and see if it’s worth it of course! Depends on how many orders you get from outside us) They act as a intermediate and clear your order for you ( paying customs and redirecting order from customs to final address), I don’t know what you would pay on your side though… I don’t work for them by the way 😜 It’s what’s used by VS for international orders and it works great!

I love your coffee talks by the way, even when you talk about products, I think you’re giving your honest opinion and even if you make money out of it so what lol? You got to make a living too 🙂 keep doing what you do!

      Hi Layla,
I’m in the UK and noticed that Costco has lots of those pantry essentials (most of them organic which is a bonus) and it’s a big pack as well which is great. For everything else holland and barret and amazon. I know it’s not as convinient as doing it all in one shop but I usually get more than I need so I don’t need to restock all the time. Hope that helps a bit!x

I know Costco, I do shopping there, I can’t find there a lot of stuff though, but you’re right. You can get a big pack and it’s not very expensive. x
