We Love You Santino

 | 84 Comments  | Blog

Santino had the biggest personality I’ve ever seen in a dog. He was the most loving, playful, protective and stubborn friend you can imagine. He passed away yesterday morning in the hospital but in Jesse’s arms peacefully. We all fought to the last minute. He was almost 13 years old which is a high age for Cane Corso and he was active until his last day. What makes me happy is the fact that he had a great life and the last 10 days of his life was his vacation in Tahoe. It was a doggie vacation. It was all about them. Walks and hikes on the beach and in the forest every single day. They even went out with us to eat in the local coffee and burger places and we would order burgers for each one of them. He couldn’t pick a better time to leave. He’s been my family for 5 years. Every single day. He’s been Jesse’s family and a best friend years before they met me. I met 3 musketeers – Jesse, Santino and Coco. That’s how I always looked at them. Inseparable. All for one and one for all. A connection like this doesn’t end with death, it only changes it’s form. He will be always with us in our thoughts and hearts. We love you so much Santino! Now you can be there for Smalls until we all see each other again. Forever yours Jesse, Coco, Zuzka, Charlie, Gypsy & Como the cat.

I would like to thank to our family and friends who were so supportive during this time. We love you and appreciate you.

I’m trying to focus on work again which helps a lot and Jesse and Coco who need a support the most right now. Just letting you know I’m back and motivated more than ever to work hard and to make the best out of every day for us, our family and friends.

I know what it is like to lose your furry family members. My Marvin died in my arms a little over a year ago. Much love to you and your family ❤️

I am so deeply saddened by the news of Santino passing. What a blessing that you were able to have such a wonderful past week with him. I hope that you and Jesse and the other dogs will be able to find comfort in the incredible moments of life you lived together and in being there during his last moments. I too held my dog as he passed and it helped knowing that he knew he was so very loved right up until the moment he was able to relax and let go. What a gift to share and know such a beautiful and special soul, my heart cries for your family right now.

i’m so truly sorry for the loss of a true friend. There cannot be a more devoted friend then that of a pup, not even a true love can replace the love for a pup. My favourite saying is “you haven’t know true love until you have had a pup in your life. So I feel your pain and tears are streaming down my face writing this. My little guy is in my arms right now sleeping peacefully and I can’t ever imagine losing him. My heart cries for all of you!!!!! Louis my little pal and I are sending many kisses and hugs to you all, be strong!!!!

I’m so sorry to hear about Santino. He had a wonderful life with you and Jesse. This quote always makes me cry but I love the sentiment:

“It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.” – Anonymous

I holding for peace in your hearts as Santino transitions into his new life and you in your new life without his physical being. While you have the gift of a huge, loving, caring heart, you also have the gift of a positive attitude and even though you grieve the loss of your beloved Santino, you have the tools to move forward and carry him and Smalls with you on your journey. Hugs and love from Philly. xoxoxo

I have a female Cane Corso named Tyranny also the same age. Mastiffs are wonderful additions to a family. So sad when they get older and you know that time is coming. Glad Santino was able to have those wonderful last days with y’all. ❤️🐶
