Insta Motivation - Enjoy The Challenge
Fitness | June 27, 2017
The exercises that really challenge me are the ones I enjoy the most. That’s how I felt about regular push ups many years ago when I first started with exercise. I really wanted to be strong enough to do them so I practiced. The feeling when you get good at something is priceless and when I did my first push up I felt even more motivated to keep going. What is it that you really want to get good at? Focus on the goal and enjoy the practice. Have a great day! ❤️

You are as always a total inspiration to me and you keep me from losing momentum! Just beautiful to watch you challenge yourself and in doing so, it inspires me to try harder.

I remember the video, you were doing the push ups with one leg raised and you failed. I think you were after the surgery and you started exercising “again”. You tried and laughed and failed on the floor several times 🙂 If you could see yourself back then what you would do today, you would be amazed 🙂
I honestly am still working on handstand without support. I fail cause I have days I work on it and days I dont and thast why I always take steps back. And you also made me “sick” with splits 😀 Because of you I fell in love with Stretch and tone routines that are combination of yoga and pilates and I totally love it. Really.

functional/practical moves as in MovNat: vault, climbing trees…but I love any sort of move especially animal flow mixed with yoga and afro dance..why no mix in a handstand (that has no functional purpose)

Right now for me the biggest fitness goals are improving how many push-ups I can do before needing to switch to my knees, and pull-ups. On a good day I can do several push-ups. Yesterday was my first unassisted pull-up, but I could only do one. I can do two chin ups, though.
Of course, I also want to work on pistol squats (I can kind of do them, definitely not gracefully, and only with weights held out as counterbalance). Handstands too! I have been occasionally practicing them in my hallway- but that is cheating because my feet are on the ceiling and I just walk my feet up (narrow hallway with a very low ceiling). Stretching goals include splits and deeper back bends.
