This was great! Super effective. It was not an X for me, but was nevertheless perfect for today. 🙂 I used my 80 lbs resistance band for everything except the thigh lifts, for which I used a 40 lbs band. Funny because I did thigh lifts yesterday as an add on to my workout. Happy to do them again today because I want to shape up my inner thighs. Thanks, Z!

That bra is super cute! I loved this workout. However, I switched to straight jump lunges in the second round to boost cardio.

Nice work out but I’m a bit annoyed by the constant start and stop of the video. Mine is on HD version. I can appreciate your tutorials for those that do not know the exercises that well however I really wish the coaching would be kept to a minimal because I feel like it slows you down as well as those of us doing the exercises. Just an observation. It’s a bit elementary to be told to put the power band above the knee over and over again. Just say it’s time for the power band again and move on.

I agree, it can get frustrating when you’re in the zone and she is explaining something we should have seen in the workout breakdown. But, she is human…
Turn the video volume down, turn on some music and follow along that way 🙂 Or, set your own timer and go through the exercises written out. I have had to make these adjustments with other videos.

Great workout! Love this series. The santana reptile pushup was so much fun, and im noticing improvements in my pushups! Just 6 months ago i couldnt even do one full pushup with proper form, now im almost keeping up!

Btw, I am getting some lag on videos these past few days, is it my connection?

Hi Karen! I sooooo totally agree with you regarding the tutorial explanations of the exercises. The coaching/instructional part should be omitted since it does waste time and I can feel my heart rate slowing down when she has to explain it over and over. Sometimes, I’ll go off begin the exercise and do extra reps just so she can finish her explanation.

Loving all the workouts and the careful thought and variety. Thinking on those who consistently need more intensity that what is on offer, you can always raise the challenge by adding a 10 minute race pace run first (and after, why not?) to get your heart zooming. I have done a great variety of sports at competition (winning) level all my life and I will defend the Zuzka’s wisdom on these exercises. I have also been guilty of pushing past my limits and suffering numerous injuries. If you take your time and do these exercises mindfully (with the immaculate form Zuzka shows), you will create a tremendous base for all your conditioning, incorporating strength, balance, and flexibility. If you need to jump on boxes or swing ropes, you can always tack that on either end. Just saying, Zuzka is never going to be able to customize workouts for each one of us. That part is up to us. 🙂

Hi Janet….I hear ya. However, the point is that Zuzka shouldn’t call this series a Heartbreak “HIIT” series since these exercises (mainly the last 2) do not constitute getting your heart rate up. If she had done burpees, box jumps, double under, kettlebell swings, surfers, plyo-jacks ; then yeah…it’s a Hiit training but doing side band leg lifts and hip raises should not be in a Hiit series. I’m not asking to customize it for me, I’m just saying she needs to call the series what it is and deliver the excerises (e.g., LBS, Fat Burn series etc). I do triathlons and marathons so I’m aware of injuries and I’m vigilant of pushing past my limits; as I’m certain the same applies to other zgym members.

I would agree that those particular exercises are probably not high intensity, but I guess I don’t really pay that much attention to the titles. Depending on one’s particular strength and weaknesses, all these exercises could present difficulties, but I see your point about these are probably not going to send your heartrate over the top. I do find significant value in all her exercises, and will often repeat them slowly and with holds afterwards if I am having trouble achieving proper form or failing to find the challenge in them. I often find new elements of difficulty appear when I try them this way. I think Zuzka does a fantastic job of making the workouts interesting, fresh, challenging, yet achievable in some format for all, no small achievement!

Loooved this! I follow your weekly schedule day by day. This was perfect to do after Monday’s workout – because Monday’s workout killed my legs! It was short, sweet and too the point without killing me all over again! Felt the burn, got my heart rate up, and enjoyed it 🙂 thank you, Zuzka!! I can tell you really take time to plan the order of these workouts to give us enough time to recover the muscles we’ve previously worked out.

And to the people who said this workout wasn’t challenging enough and didn’t live up to it’s name, y’all must not be beginners lol! That’s what I love about Zuzka’s workouts. Any person at any level can do them, even if we have to modify up or down a level sometimes 😊
