This Is How I Fast & Eat
Nutrition | July 16, 2021
Here’s the list of foods and supplements I mentioned in the video:
Pre-Biotic Fiber from Bulletproof Brand
Pre-Biotic Fiber from Garden of Life
(I have the Garden of Life, but I’m about to try the Bulletproof starting next week)
MCT oil (some brands have MCT oil with high C8 content – the most ketogenic molecule)
Bulletproof Coffee:
Cup of coffee (I drink decaf but that’s your choice), 1/2 tbsp grass-fed unsalted butter (Kerigold), 1/2 tbsp MCT oil.
My Fast Ritual Overview:
16/8 hour fast, I typically eat between 12pm-8pm but it can vary. Some days I fast longer hours and there can be also a day in the week when I extend my eating window or don’t fast.
I’m in Keto without even trying and this fast got me fully adapted. Because of that I can enjoy more carbs from my favourite fruits or have things like quinoa or sweet potatoes. My strength has not suffered the way it did in the past, so I’m finally reaping all the benefits I’ve been looking for.

Hi, Zuzka!
I love this idea and I used to practice intermittent fasting 16/8, no coffee, just water and it was good. Now as I am pregnant with 4 child, i have this perception that I must not fast. Do you know if that is true or no. I am almost done this pregnancy, its 30 weeks now, do you think I can be ok with intermittent fasting as i really need it))))

Hello. I have black coffee and water upon waking, do your workout at 630am. Is it ok to then have BP coffee until I eat at 10/11am or is that bad for cortisol since it’s coffee after working out?

Hi. About 7 weeks ago, I saw this video and learned boaut hte intermittent fasting and apparent scientifically proven benefits. An a scientist myself, I checked the scientific literature and started the 16/8 intermittent fasting right away. There are proven benefits for heatlhy gut microbiome, lower inflammation rate in the body, meaning better healing and immunity and slowlier aging. Wow… great, let’s do this! I thought.
I used to feel nauseated, too full, and belly-blown for the last 2 years basically every day. I considered it my normal state. Now it’s gone. My 1-year reocurring problems with yeast infections are also gone. Previously probiotics and fiber helped a bit but the fasting is so much better.
My questions now are… and these are things that do not have a clear scientific answer… I checked it. Is this possible and good to do 16/8 fasting long-term forever? When in this schedule do you exercise? Does it really matter? And is 16/8 fasting good for people with a big load of work with their brain? As a scientist, my mental load is immense, and can be exhausting.
