Stretching Exercises For Every Day
Health | September 11, 2013
I am a strong believe in the connection between our body and mind, which makes me believe even more in physical fitness and the benefits of daily stretching exercises. I notice myself right away the effect that stretching has on my mind and my mood.
I shared with you basic stretches in the video above that I do on a daily basis. I have commit to do that, because I believe that stretching and joint mobility drills play major role in preventing injuries, and slowing down the aging process of our bodies. Don’t get me wrong, our faces will still get wrinkles and no plastic surgery can yank your face back enough to make you look like you’re 20 again, but the things you can do to keep your body strong and flexible is just incredible. I’ve seen really old people performing unbelievable athletic performances and having a blast in their pain free bodies. That to me is the right goal for my retirement.
Obviously having that goal in mind, I had to set the right behavior goals for myself. In order to remain flexible and avoid any stiffness, you have to stretch every day. That’s what I realized. I remember how easier it used to be when I was younger, so age does make things a little harder, but not impossible and you just have to try harder against it. Most of us living in the modern world are hardly finding the time to exercise and go to hour long yoga classes. If you can do that, perfect. Use that opportunity as much as you can, and for those of you who can’t, make sure to watch the video above and do the stretches on a daily basis. You will notice a difference soon. The little things that you do during the day really matter. Try not to slouch when sitting by the computer. I’m sitting on the ground having my computer on the coffee table as I’m writing this post, and I try to change position every time I catch myself slouching my back and shoulders. Keeping good posture also makes a huge difference and keeping your chest up will even make you feel better inside.
Anyways, that’s all I wanted to tell you today and please let me know if you have any experiences with stretching and how long do you like to hold your stretches. Like I said in the video, I get better results holding the stretch for 3-5 minutes rather than 30 seconds, however if I have only 30 seconds for a short stretch, I use it and I do it. Every moment counts.
Best,
Z.

Hi zuzka! I’m a young girl that have been doing your workouts since a year ago.. nowI have 17 and I love stretching.. I try to do it very morning but I have a question I have arms with kinda lot of fat for me but I want to mainly lose fat.. I wonder if I eat a lot of fruits or vegetables and I am a sedentary person will I gain fat?

I am not Zuzka but I want to answer you. How is the rest of your body ? Because It is hard to answer your question like that, I need more information. But I can assure you that fruits and vegetables do not make people fat. Are you eating a lot of carbs or sugar ? Because maybe this is the cause. If not, I would recommend you to do work your triceps a little bit more and to do weight lifting because it is by building more muscles that you are going to lose more fat. Hope it helps.

Hi Zuzka!
I went to a chiropractor a few month ago because of constant back pain. He has shown me exercises to reduce them and to get rid of this constant pain in the future.
They are: Lunge left and right, hold foot to bum left and right, forward bend and cobra.
He told me that those positions should be held for at least two minutes to be efficient.
I also have an oblique pelvis position and he told me that those stretches would reduce this as well. I was at a check-up at my doctor a few weeks ago and he really told me that my pelvis position has improved. I was so happy I couldn’t believe it!!!
Stretching is really important I think. Although I have always done it, I might have done it in a too short amount of time. My back pain is a result of that I believe. Still suffer from it but to be pain free till christmas is my long time goal 😉
Are any kettlebell-workouts planned for your website as well or only on your DVD?
Bye

Hi Zuzka,
We have some similar goals with regards to flexibility, like that first one you did. I know this may sound weird, but I store a lot of trauma and other negative energies in my body over the years from all sorts of injuries. Recently I came across a therapist I used to go to in energy psychology.
Long story short, she’s an EFT practitioner now (EFT = Emotional Freedom Technique) and is making a lot of great strides in helping athletes with injuries and performance naturally, no meds, just eliminating negative energies in the body.
So, I tried out some of her stuff when I face a neck, shoulder, arm injury this summer. After doing her Injury Protocols, I found that it also helped me be more flexible.
I’m quite a bit bigger than you and with that bend with your legs in front of you, I could not go down very far, but after doing the EFT, it released stuff in my back and legs to where I now can bend about as low as you, which is more than double what I was able to do EVER in my life.
I’m maybe like 3-4″ from touching my knees without straining and feeling pain. I’m going to use her EFT Injury protocols more, eventually get her other stuff for helping me in my workouts, and work on some trigger points I may have in my hams, hips, lower back to get rid of them and see if it helps me with my flexibility.
Anyway, you inspire me and thank you for being real and positive, and all your hard work. I hope in the next year, I can send some awesome progress photos of myself and my 13 yr old daughter (she loves you, too).
And I can see how ripped you are getting from a year or two ago. You’re awesome!
Blessings,
Doris

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your blog. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes
it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit
more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme?
Superb work!

Right here is the right site for anyone who would like
to find out about this topic. You know so much its almost hard to
argue with you (not that I actually would want to…HaHa).
You certainly put a new spin on a subject that’s been written about for many years.
Wonderful stuff, just excellent!
