Stress and Cancer Free!

Blog | March 27, 2015

Heather has posted her comment on my latest coffee talk and I just couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I sent her an email, and asked her to share her story with all of you guys.

“I decided to take a real picture of myself with my fresh scar to show you I’m for real about my healing process. I normally don’t even take pictures of myself!”

My father died of esophageal cancer in April of 2007. He died very quickly as well. I am just coming back to join you after a short break. I had a tumor in my abdomen and we thought it was cancer. My surgery was just this past December and I had some of my intestinal tract removed which was a brutal recovery. (I have been back in the ZGYM for a month now!) Although I have been working out with you for 5 years, my main issue was stress. It literally made me sick. I have since changed my life by combining fitness with better eating habits AND changing my mood through positive thinking about EVERYTHING. I focus on the things I love and never think about my body fat, debt or anything that makes me feel stressed. I just live in LOVE to raise my vibrations and heal myself from the inside out. Long story short, I have ZERO cancer. They can’t even find a trace of ANY disease…not even Crohn’s or Colitis. The doctors can’t tell me why or how, but I know how I healed myself in the last 3 months. I truly believe that constant positive affirmation and living in a state of love has helped heal me.

I agree that detection is needed, however I really think that the awareness needs to be more about healthy living as a whole. just 2 days ago a friend shared great video with me that I want to share with you, Zuzka and everyone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=samIbgtvJ4Q). I think this is right up your alley and the principles they talk about are just how I have been trying to live my life. It really makes you think about how we as a society will treat illness with drugs instead of treating ourselves naturally, BEFORE we have a problem.

P.S. I had hired a trainer last year for 3 months because I thought I wanted to do a bikini competition but that’s not me. He put my body through hell and my calories were too low. You have the BEST blog hands down and I keep coming back every year to work out with you because nothing works quite as well! You are not like the others that are overly sexual or obsessed with competition lifestyle. You are just healthy, happy and genuine. Your beginner series helps me on days that I feel weak and your X workouts are awesome and challenge me!!! I can almost keep up with you now with minimal modifications.

OH MY GOSH! I’m just so overwhelmed, humbled and grateful that I was able to share this with you and those who will appreciate it! Sometimes I meet people who don’t care, don’t want to change and don’t want to hear that there is a better way through healthy living. I think it’s tragic. I’m glad that I found a community that cares and I was able to gather the courage to pipe-up! I’m so afraid to chime in sometimes and I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone! The picture was the hardest part because self consciousness is my biggest hurtle.

THANK YOU, EVERYONE for all your compliments and kind words! It fills my heart up just reading them and helps me stick to it! I will find a ‘before’ picture soon to show you just how great my results are with Z’s short workouts and her approach to nutrition. I have tried a TON of programs and THIS is my favorite. Not just because of my physical results but it’s also the journey.

Zuzka, thank you again for being here for us all. I have followed you since bodyrock and I feel like I have grown with you all of these years. Your videos and blogs have been cornerstone in my life and you are my ultimate SHERO! ❤️

Heather could I ask you if you read books discussing positive thinking? For me this is also a real big thing just to learn to live with various things or to get over it and for living a happier life full of thoughts filled with love 🙂 You are such an inspiration – i am overwhelmed by everything you’ve gotten through and how you deal with it and live your life now. So I just want to say thank you for sharing your story!!!

Thank you for sharing your story and empowering women!

It’s so refreshing to see women that are taking care of themselves in this manner.

I totally believe that our bodies have the ability to heal themselves. If we take care to nourish ourselves with food that is nutrient rich, exercise and move our bodies, and most importantly, feed our spirits – do things that make us laugh and feel happy….think thoughts that are positive ….and work on forgiveness, being non-judgmental, and giving unconditional love!

    Thank you again….

Thank you for posting this Zuzka and thank you Heather for sharing this part of your life with us.
I really needed the inspiration to keep going. I have kidney disease and have relapsed due to stress, which means I am back on steroids AND I have just started putting on weight which is getting me down, 2kg in 2wks :'( I know there isn’t much I can do about the weight gain but you have inspired me to keep going anyway. Thank you again so much x

Hi Kara, Im really glad that reading this post has helped. Don’t be upset about a little bit of weight gain. 2 kgs is not that much and the most important thing is your health, so try to get some good laugh as often as possible – it suppose to be the best medicine. Or is it love? 🙂 Both of them I guess.

You truly have a beautiful outlook on life. My mother went through something similar with breast cancer. Though she was never well enough to handle Zuzka’s workouts after the diagnosis, she developed a positive outlook on life and it changed her for the better. She was a hermit when the cancer was found, living alone on disability from severe social anxiety. She fell into the cycle of self-loathing and binge eating for comfort, covering all reflective surfaces with towels and refusing to have her picture taken. I don’t think she let herself see her reflection for over a year. When she was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer with bone mets, she started a garden and made an effort to connect with people she didn’t know. Watching her transform over three and a half years from being scared of others and herself into this strong, bright woman who started taking daily selfies… she also loved sitting in the garden doing crosswords while I sweated through a Zgym on the patio ;). Loving yourself and opening your heart to the world around you can be so hard, but at the end of every day you’ll have a smile on your face and peace in your mind. <3
