Pumpkin Spice Granola (WEM)

Recipes | November 24, 2015

Pumpkin_Spice_granola

I love this crispy and sweet pumpkin spice granola by itself or with almond milk after my workout. You guys can also present your friends with cute little jars filled with this delicious home made holiday snack for Thanksgiving.

Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup coconut flakes
1/4 cup black chia seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup almond slices
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup cranberries
4-5 tbspΒ honey
1 tsp pumpkin spice
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3 tbsp Algae oil (grape seed oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil is fine too)
+1 tbsp of oil to grease the baking sheet

  1. preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit degree.
  2. combine all ingredients in a medium size bowl and use your hands to spread the oil and honey evenly across all of the dry ingredients.
  3. grease a baking sheet with 1 tbsp of oil and transfer the granola onto the baking sheet. Spread into a single layer and place in the preheated oven. Bake for 8 minutes, toss and flip and bake for another 2-4 minutes maximum.
  4. The granola is Β going to be soft when you take it out of the oven at first, but it turns crispy as soon as it cools down a little. It’s going to look glossy and have a color of a pumpkin pie πŸ™‚

Macros for the entire recipe:
Calories: 2,566.9
Carbs: 262.8 g
Net Carbs: 201.3 g
Fat: 160.1 g
Protein: 48 g

Note: Do not be alarmed by the high calorie count here! This is nowhere near the amount you’d actually be eating from say a full cup of the granola; this makes multiple servings to start, and second, just like you wouldn’t polish off an entire bag of granola, you wouldn’t do the same with this recipe. Sensible amounts bring sensible macro counts. So you have nothing to worry about! You’re in good hands. πŸ™‚

Hi Zu…I love homemade granola…I eat this as afternoon snack with apple and it is the only meal that keeps me full for sometime. The one I prepare is without honey, oats and chia. Rest is almost same, in my recipe I use nuts like cashew nuts, Brazil nuts, and walnuts, it is a low carb granola. I will definitely try this one…I enjoy cooking a lot and I realized after I started preparing my own food and snacks, my body improved also along with my health. I have done coconut and nuts bars also…if you have any recipe of protein bars, plz share. Thanks…see you, take care.

      Hi Fernanda!
If it comes to protein bars, I just found this delicious recipe on the internet:
      http://rawified.blogspot.ca/2012/05/raw-larabars.html

I made these bars and they are super delicious, the only thing that I changed was to add vanilla (or chocolate) protein powder (about 1 scoop). They are amazing, so you may try them if you want πŸ™‚
      XOXO,
      M.

    Hi Fernanda πŸ™‚
I hope you like them, I find them delicious and I can’t wait to do my workout just to eat them πŸ˜€
The protein powder that I use is Scitec Zero (I’ve done a research and this is the best protein powder available in Poland IMO. NO carbs, no sugar and 86 grams of protein per 100 grams of powder.
Take care and I can’t wait to hear your feedback πŸ™‚

It’s a spice combination. I think it’s usually cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Sometimes some nutmeg (?). πŸ™‚
