Hardboiled Egg

Recipes | April 07, 2018

Hardboiled eggs make for an excellent Keto snack due to their nutritious value and fat/protein ratio.

Instructions:

  1. Add cold water and eggs to a smaller pot (make sure the eggs are submerged), add a tsp of salt, cover with lid and bring to boil.
  2. Once the water’s boiling, turn off the heat and let the eggs sit in the hot water for 12 minutes.
  3. Remove the eggs from the hot water and let them cool down. You can submerge them in cold water to cool them down quicker.
  4. Crack the shell and peel it off the hardboiled egg. Discard the hard shell.

* you can store the hardboiled eggs with or without the hard shell in the refrigerator for up to seven days.

I thought on average this may be higher up in calories, toward 100.

It depends, I think on average is 80 Kcal. But some eggs are smaller, especially non-organic so the Kcal may be close to 70 and jumbo organic eggs could be higher. But is the quality of protein in eggs that makes them super valuable, except if you are allergic to them .
