My DIY Projects
Blog | September 13, 2013
A couple of weekends ago I decided to be creative and I shortened the legs of our table that was actually pretty tall and we had no stools to go with it. I thought why not to make a nice coffee talbe out of it. I also wanted to sand it down, however that is still in progress.
Now the table looks like this, we have not figure out yet the seating around this table and the most ironic part is that we just got two awesome looking stools made out of iron and leather (really fancy) but now we don’t have the high table to go with it! I was seriously thinking about gluing the legs back on the table, just to be able to use those stools.
Don’t you ever feel like that?
Yesterday I walked into the door and the first thing I saw was this monster. Jesse decided to take our DIY projects to the next level, and got a few of these big woodworking tools so that he can build us a new dining table.. YAY! Super excited, but I can’t wait to get this machine out of the living room 🙂
Anyways, we moved into our house in April, but we’re still working on making this place into our home. We definately need more furniture and decorations, but the kids, I mean dogs, seem to be happy 🙂 Santino knows exactly what I’m talking about.

Love the coffee table:) ..you can buy just some pillows to sit on and have it like Japanese style.
You should do a house tour for us and I have a question. How many dogs do you have?

We have a pack of dogs too & after years of waking up to a dog butt in my face or dog hair or (worse) doodoo, peepee or barf in the bed i finally had enough! I mean I love being part of the pack, but my hubbz was the one insisting on sharing our bed with them! I finally got smart and built a 3′ high platform for my mattress & box spring to rest upon! Now we have extra storage under the bed for the dog crates! We do have to climb a few stairs to get into the bed, but the dogs can not jump up on it anymore (…well except Millie our “over achiever” Jack Russell Terrier!)
I also bought a sewing machine & learned to use it because I had to make my own 3′ tall dust ruffle for my bed! I went to Goodwill & bought white cotton sheets….& keeping with my shabby chic/ dog themed room I shredded the sheets & made layers of “ruff”les (see what I did there? Bahahaha!) it turned out exactly as I had imagined that it would!
Time, patience & perseverance & lots of love are what turn a house into a home! I love the new DIY part of your blog!
