When I started exercising I was like “Never without shoes.” Then I had a break from HIIT workouts and did only yoga which is obviously best to do without shoes and after 6 months I felt like going back to HIIT and I was unable to do it with shoes. I felt like something was wrong, so I put those shoes off and I never used them again while doing HIIT workouts. I even do rope jumps barefoot … even though it hurts like s*it when I smack my feet 😀 But for me it is some kind of motivation to focus more on not to trip over the jump rope 😀

I’ve been working out barefoot forever. I feel very uncomfortable wearing shoes while working out. I walk around house barefoot also. It gives me great feeling of freedom and conection foot and earth (ground) it’s so healthy.

This coffee talk was probably my favourite one in all the years I’ve been following. ( loooong time) I am always barefoot. It feels so much better and I did notice you always being barefoot in some workouts, which made me feel that it was OK for me to do it as well. At first I was very hesitant to go barefoot because I didn’t think it was the proper thing to do, and I wanted my body to feel right. Even the portion about the herbs, I’ve decided to grow my own garden this year including all of the herbs that you talked about which was super cool and also I’ve decided to go to school for nutrition so learning all these things and then hearing them from you has been incredibly motivating. Awesome coffee talk !!

Loved the coffee talk! Jam packed with recipes and suggestions!
I’ve also worked out barefoot for many years now and don’t like to put shoes on – except when jumping rope.
I feel more grounded and find that having awareness of my feet and toes centered onto my mat really provides me with a mind body connection. I feel stable and secure and my form is less compromised.
I brought slip on tennis shoes for jumping rope so I can slip them on then off quickly.
Thank you for all you do!

Thank you for this info, I’ve always worked out with shoes , I thought that I needed the support, but working out with you I have been doing without them every here and there, I will try to do even more without them now.
I have a question about coconut oil. I read in the news the other day that the american heart association is now saying that it will clog your arteries. What are you thoughts on the subject, I would love to know your take on the subject.
Thank you!!!

I started working out barefoot this year and love it.
Z- are you still thinking about doing a 6 pack ab series?

I have to wear some sort of foot support while working out. A minimalist shoe is why works best for me.
I would think a much larger concern would be walking around in 3,4, and 5″ heeled shoes for any amount of time!
I can’t believe that a 15-20 minute workout in athletic shoes would really be much of a concern when a person turns around for a night out and throws on a pair of stilettos!
Just a thought…
Btw, I’m not singling out zuzka for doing this! We all do, or most of us women do. But seems kinda silly
Hi girls!
Zuzka thanks for sharing the benefits of fresh herbs. I am now more motivated to have my little fresh herb garden. I am absolutely tempted to try these recipes the sooner.
For the matter of going barefooted I started to do it as you launched the 15 minute fit slide series. For me it feels better to do the exercises on the exercise mat but sometimes is annoying that it starts to slip under my feet and makes me feel insecure. My floor is so slippery, and I haven’t found something to make me feel more stable and safe and comfortable. A carpet is not an option for me. Any ideas?
