I really appreciate your insight Zuzana. I agree it’s very helpful to hear that everyone is human and has struggles with mental health, even when they have a fun and inspirational job like you! I personally struggle with insomnia, which brings on anxiety and depression when it is bad. I will definitely try some various guided meditations again – sounds like a great option that I probably overlooked by only trying only once. I’ve tried many natural sleep aids along with generally having a healthy lifestyle and good sleep hygiene, but I’m still struggling and would like to try everything before medications.
Thanks to everyone at Zgym for keeping it real and having a nice discussion about the tougher parts of life. xoxo

There are measurements in the descriptions to guide you through the sizes – the best way is to use a tape measure and measure the widest area of your chest and your hips.

    Hi Z and warriors,

Thank you for the sincere and experience-based advice! What resonated most with me and found particularly honest and true from my personal perspective was how “shallow” treatments or advice (i.e.: painting, creative writing, cooking or even exercise) are great ways to treat the EFFECTS of anxiety, but do NOT deal with the CAUSE of anxiety (why are we filling the way we do?). I have swept anxiety under the rug with exercise for all my life. It kept me in survival mode, but it most certainly did not help me become a balanced person. Whenever I felt anxiety creeping up I would exercise like a maniac (I still do it sometimes, because unfortunately, as healthy as it is, I have turned exercise into a drug; running and avoiding your feelings does this: it turns positive things, into negative ones). I remember how hard it was for me to open up to my partner, how vulnerable and literally “gutted” I felt! I let that felling sink in, because I had run out of options (exercising excessively depleted my body of energy and it was no longer fun, I felt it was like doing drugs honestly – you love the rush you get, but you no you are exaggerating, you not what you are doing is not healthy). Guess what happened when I opened up? I will be very cliche and predictable: NOTHING happened. I was not gutted, shamed, or other form of death. Noup, I woke up knowing I voiced my problem and in time, like Zuzka pointed out, once I started voicing my problems to my partner and my myself, my subconscious began to pick it up. I began understanding the cause…It takes forever, but so does any journey that you LEARN something from! Quick fixes, fast solutions, did not give me a long-term dependable answer, they did not TEACH me anything about who I am and WHY I am feeling the way I do.
Thank you Zuzka of reminding us to always learn! :-*

Thank you for sharing this. Someone on YouTube misunderstood what I meant when I said that things like exercise, healthy diet, creative activity, or taking a day in a spa are shallow. I didn’t mean to insult art, or music or fitness. I don’t underestimate the power of these things, and I think they do make us feel great and alive – when we’re in a good place to begin with. I feel that when you have an anxiety, then it’s hard to truly enjoy any of these things, and I wouldn’t look at them as the cure. Like you said, this otherwise healthy distraction can turn into an unhealthy obsession. I think these things are an important part of overall holistic living they will get you on the right path, but you have to deal with your anxiety first from within.

Sadly dear Zuzka, people misinterpret us when they don’t want to accept certain truths. I am happy whenever a person exposes their true self through prejudice or biased judgement. It saves me the trouble of trying to help them – a person that is so self-centered as to think the world is just as they see it and jump to conclusions and misinterpret will never accept help. This is the case with Internet trolls, their insecurities make them attack people they feel have what they don’t and they go so far down the rabbit hole with their opinions that it becomes to difficult for them to accept they made a mistake – they would “lose face”. Let’s just hope that after they saw comments and replies at least in their mind, they realized their anxieties. Personally, your balanced way of exercising and dealing with life in general is a big inspiration in my life. πŸ™‚

    Hi Zuzka πŸ™‚
This coffee talk made me to think about my own way how to deal with anxiety (haha surprise surprise ). I always find refuge in God so my religion takes a huge part in actually dealing with everyday situations – both good and bad. Now IΒ΄ve got a question to ask – If itΒ΄s too personal you of course donΒ΄t have to answer – but it just came to my mind – do you believe in God ? What is your religion ? If you feel opened, maybe you can speak about it a little bit in your next coffee talk.
Anyways thank you for everything, you are really great. πŸ™‚

I grew up in the Czech republic which used to be a part of the Roman Empire. We have a lot of beautiful churches, and it used to be mandatory to go to church every day, then every Sunday and eventually it became optional. When that happened, it turned out that Czech people have no interest in religion. We love our churches, and we’re proud to have them, but nobody goes there to pray. I think the religion that is the closest to my heart is Buddhism.
However that doesn’t mean that I look down on other religions. I respect everyone’s opinions and believes and I realize that I might be wrong and there might be god. What’s important is that religion makes people feel connected, and it gives them the tools they need to cope with life. Just like you said. I think it’s great that we have the freedom to choose what to believe in and that nobody can force us to deny who we are.

Thanks for sharing. Having followed you for a long time I have been curious as well. I would have to say that if a particular religion is forced upon a people the reception would not be appreciated. I am a person of faith in God, but I detest the word “religion”. I just can’t use that word to describe my beliefs. In that word to me is too much of man trying to make the rules instead of following God’s rules. That never ends well.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I know so many people who struggle with anxiety and if we look on the outside sometimes they are the “happiest”…but that is them trying to cover up the inner turmoil.

Thanks for this honest and wise talk! I was in therapy for awhile and one of the valuable things I learned was that by habitually distracting myself (and disconnecting) from negative feelings for years, I’d taught myself to disconnect from feeling emotions in general. I became kind of numb to both pain and joy. The therapy was years ago, but I’m still working on that, as well as being honest and vulnerable with others about how I feel. Like you say, the learning is continuous. πŸ™‚ Thanks for all you do!

Thank you for this coffee talk. I agree with the guided meditations. I have found them to be very helpful with anxiety and insomnia. I would say, if anyone struggles at first, stick with it! Just like exercise, the more you do it, the better you get
