Congratulations on your great news Zuzka. I really appreciated the talk on vacation and tips on eating. I just got back from a 3week vacation in Italy and usually take a balanced view on food and exercise but found it a very carb heavy vacation despite efforts and am now seeing the setback physically. I’m taking your advice to heart and trying to ease off on my self flagellation.
Regarding sunscreen, please be really careful with just coconut oil. It’s easy to lose track of time. I frequently use it when I dive as it’s the safest sunscreen for coral (do a search online, even zinc oxide can be found in bioflagellates). The best for me is to cover up. I have a surfing bodysuit I use for snorkelling and under my dive suit which covers my bottom. By the way, the coconut oil is also a great insulator if you get cold diving like I do. Learned this trick from a Polynesian when I was diving in Tikeha’u. In Canada Green Beaver makes a waterproof zinc oxide sunscreen but it’s a bit sticky. Other barrier sunscreens I’ve used successfully is Thanaka, a paste made of a sweet wood commonly used in Myanmar. Occasionally I pull it out but do get stares as it’s pretty obviously yellow; still the smell is great and it makes my skin soft.
