Monday Motivation - 3 Levels of Success
Blog | February 18, 2018
There are 3 levels of mindset that correlate closely with the level of your success. Which one can you relate to? I have a few tips on how to grow from the beginner level all the way to the advanced.

I find myself going between levels each week. My legs are stronger than my upper body. I think the biggest thing that holds me back is fear of getting hurt. I tweaked my back last year doing kettlebell and sometimes end up hurting my neck or shoulder. So is it form? Is it strength? I donโt know and I get afraid to risk it.

I feel like I am sort of intermediate as far as motivation goes. Working out? No problem! I absolutely love zgym, and it was what I started doing after only doing pilates and I fell in love with this website and Zu! As far as my nutrition goes, I am very up and down for motivation. Right now I feel like I am teetering on the edge of intermediate but I am a beginner there, still. Today is my first day on the Zshred meal plan, and I tried the plant based meal plan – but I fell off track after around two weeks. Its usually when I stop following a meal plan, and I really don’t know why! I think its all in my head really, like I’m setting myself up for failure unintentionally. The recipes were totally out of this world and I was loving it!! BUT I AM motivated to stick to this meal plan and I plan on making it the whole way through! ๐

I am having difficulty finding motivation to just be consistent and keep pushing myself. I often think I need a partner to work out with to keep me going but this is just putting off the responsibility I suppose. I love these work outs, and thought I don’t have a pull up bar or option at my house I usually can do most of the exercises. Keep pushing and keep being accountable. I feel like for my arms I’m a beginner, my legs are intermediate, and my flexibility is more on the advanced side thanks to yoga and my core. I am still struggling to lose weight though. I have PCOS and it is more difficult for me but something has to work. I think you’re right that I need to give it my all at least 30 minutes a day with you. I really appreciate your motivation and great work outs!

Hi Z, loved the coffee talk as always…they feel so personal especially because you look right into the lens like you’re talking right to me. ๐ On most days I feel advanced as far as motivation stands, but sometimes I have to pull from others’ workouts (i.e. instagram) and that usually works. Another motivation for me is remembering all the many moves I’ve mastered from the past and it hasn’t even been a year since I’ve joined the zgym…I truly believe I can do any move with practice. As far as my workout level, I feel intermediate, although I do the advanced workouts, because I haven’t mastered all the exercises yet ,like I still use an assistant band for pull ups and those darn pistol squats (I used 4xday/max rule starting from an elevated surface and it worked!… but I stopped once I was able to do one without elevation…and then we hadn’t done them in awhile so I lost it…in hindsight I realize I should’ve continued doing them on my own, duh!). No time like the present. Looking forward to the Discipline coffee talk…who talks like this? LOL!…that’ s how you know you’re into it! Amirite?

Z,
great coffee talk. I am new to the ZGym but, I find myself in the middle of beginner and intermediate. You video was motivational. I mean wow! Pistol squats and Chinese get ups, I can ‘t do but, I will make those a goal to master by the end of this year. Of course with your help in how to get better at them. What would be your suggestions at getting those skills under my belt? Looking forward to more coffee talks on a daily basis. Thank you so much!

Such a cute dog in the background! <3
I would say my motivation level is moderate, and getting toward advanced. My fitness level and diet has been so great since I joined Zgym. I look forward to the workouts every day because they are different and most are 15-30 minutes. I had been doing workouts previously that were too boring or too long- 45 minute HIIT workouts. I was drenched from head to toe in sweat and exhausted…and I did get into great shape! But I gave up because they were too much to do after working 10.5 hours a day with only one day off! I began to dread them. With the Zgym workouts, I am excited for a new challenge every day. The timing of them is perfect because I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. The longer ones are for stretching and toning, and that is much more tolerable than 45-50 minutes of non stop HIIT! I am so happy that I found you Zuzka, you have really changed my life…I am so much more consistent, motivated, and healthy! THANK YOU!
Another question for you: How often do you make/eat your Free Meal desserts?? I love desserts and I make 1-2 from your website every week. I have 1-2 pieces a day…okay maybe more sometimes! Is this ok? I try to be careful because most have a high fat content and I do not want to overload on fat. Thank You <3

Hi Zuzka: Loved your talk on beliefs!
I do feel beliefs are so powerful because I have learned that they are stored in our subconscious as programs. As a result, they play over and over in loops. We are not even aware most times.
Kind of like when we first learned to drive a car…at first we pay close attention and are conscious; however, once we learn, this info gets placed into our subconscious. Have you had this experience? You get in our car to drive home from work and before you know it, you’re home and don’t remember how you go there?
I have learned that an important step in beliefs is to first bring them into awareness. e.g. When you showed that video, as I watched a few of those moves, I was thinking ‘that looks so hard…I’m to old to do that.’ I’m now aware that this is a belief.
The thing about beliefs is that they are either serving or not serving.
That belief — ‘I’m to old’ is definitely NOT serving me. YIKES….!
I did take time to ponder where I may have gotten that belief? I think that one is probably stuff I’ve heard from society.
Once I bring a new belief into my awareness, I jot it down in my journal.
I have read about neuroplasticity so I do believe you can re-wire the brain. It takes repetitiveness to reinforce the new thought.
That being the case, I have decided that I once I learn of a belief, I will set an intention. The intention will be ‘I will build an awareness to listen for this belief.’
once aware, I will say a positive affirmation…such as, ‘I get better with age!’ (my new mantra!!! yeah!!!)
Thank you again Zuzka!

Hi Anna,
What a great way to work with… beliefs to intention… to reinforce new positive thinking.
I have read about neuroplasticity to, but still practice how to use it. Thank you for sharing : )

Thank you Zuzka : )
I found your coffe talk, really inspiring. You gave me some new ways of thinking.
When It comes to my beliefs, what I’m struggle with on a bad day:
– you will gain the weight again..just like last time.
– You can’t use your body, you have no coordination, balance or strength ( I was bullied a lot as a child, so I hate sport ) Starting on your program is the first time I enjoy workout and using my body like that.
Thanks : )

I was semi advanced before [baby]. Now I would say I am intermidiate. I think I recently graduated from being a re beginner hahah. I was totally putting myself down for my body being so different and slow/heavier compared to before but thank goodness I flipped that script! I am proud for how my body grew and delivered a baby even though it took me a while to fee that way. Now I am motivated but totally need the consistent action that you talk about. January was awesome but this past week has been my worst since the year started. Your video got me so inspired to click play and get moving! My husband and child will benefit from it plus it feels me with pride when my baby (9 months today!!!) watches me and moves around with me โค๏ธ
