My week in a Nutshell - Lunch with Lorna Jane, my weekend, ZGYM special workout raffle and more...

Blog | July 25, 2016

I’ve been wanting to vlog on a consistent basis for as long as I remember. The hardest part has always been to find a good rhythm. Something that would be sustainable. I don’t want to get too ahead of myself (that’s my specialty), but I think I found it. My plan is to shoot throughout the week to give you a little peak into my personal life, reply to some of your recently asked questions, and share some tips.

Enjoy watching and leave me your feedback in the comments below!

Liked seeing your week:) I see Jesse didn’t wear flannel to Lorna’s brunch lol!! Will you be posting that workout you did by the pool? I wanna do it!!! Also what do suggest for those of us who do not have access to a monster kb? I hate to spend that much money if we won’t use it very often..?? I have a 20 lb, 25 lb and 45 lb….not sure if I can keep buying them.

I agree with you. I would like to do that workout as well; it looks like some next level stuff. Also, I’m wondering how (and I’m quite sure most us) are supposed to achieve competing this workout with out a monster. I only have a beast, and alot of members don’t have that.

That’s a good question. That’s why I decided to do this raffle to give everyone a shot to get one special workout that won’t necessarily turn into a whole series. I am very much aware that members won’t go and buy every single piece of equipment (especially the pricey once) that I get for free from a company that wants me to promote them. That’s why I try to keep the home gym equipment as simple and accessible as possible. I was really afraid to introduce the pull up bar but I felt like that’s a must if we want to make a huge progress. The Monster kettlebell is great to have at home, because you can do 2-3 sets of deadlifts and be done with your workout for the day if you’re in a hurry. However, I don’t think members like yourself are ready to make this investment, so I will do that one workout, and try my best to come up with some good modifications for those of you who have The Beast.

I love the raffle idea!! I’ll come up with some way to modify…who knows I may even break down and buy a monster ๐Ÿ™‚ I do really like lifted butt series and am sure I’d love my own little monster ๐Ÿ™‚

The pull ups and the monster bell are two things that literally make a difference overnight, hugely motivating when you wake up and you can see changes from the day before. Intimidating to struggle with them on your own but so inspiring to see them in your workouts and do them alongside. Thank you so much for including them in your workouts!!!

I really like that you are giving us more options for our workouts. Even if you do not continue to give us workouts that you would do at home with equipment you feel we won’t buy, it would be fun to see a section of even written ideas of how to put workouts together of our own with that equipment. I have 2 barbells and Dumbell barbells at home from my son who weight trains for football, so i will use those for my heavy deadlifts, which i have been already anyways. I could also fill up my sandbag with my weights to make it heavy. I just think creatively! And i so appreciate the Pull up bar as my upper body has changed so much. My daughter constantly mentions it though i do not take pictures. I guess i should. lol

I was thinking the same thing. I will just use barbell for deadlifts. I love having options of new workouts.

Hi Zuzka! I love these series, but I could do just a couple of them as I have some knee issues and very often I need to make up my own series ๐Ÿ˜› just to make it anough challenging for me and at the same time to not harm my knees. As we started to talk about equipment, Iยดve seen in your old series you was using so much a dip station but you don’t use it anymore. I don’t have one, but I still want to know the reasons you stop to use some equipment?

I don’t have a monster either…but I do have some small barbells. I’m not sure how much weight I have that I can add…but I’ll see what all I can! Maybe it’ll come close. ๐Ÿ™‚ As long as it’s for stuff like deadlifts (and not kettlebell swings), at least. I wonder if other around-the-house stuff that’s heavy could be used (again, depending on the exercise!) like filling a gym bag with something heavy.

I have barbell and plan to go to play it again sports and get the small ones. They also carry used plates and such. Craigslist is where i found alot of my stuff for very cheap.

That’s the kind I have (the little barbells). I use them for my regular 12 lb weights, but I’d like to get some dumbbells to use in place of them: they’re reeeeealllly hard to use for the pushups since they’re rounded… And they loosen up with the pushups, too. lol, I have to tighten them up after each rep!

Craigslist is a great idea! I wonder if thrift stores might have some as well. I keep putting off getting dumbbells ’cause I look at them in the stores and wonder if I really want to spend the extra money when the little barbells still work, even though the rounded weights can be annoying (and they sure are great for adjusting weight when needed). Nothing wrong with having variety, though! Especially when there’s a good deal!

loved to see the behind the scenes of your life. its awesome that you film all of your own workouts. A lot of work goes into maintaining and running your site, and it doesn’t end there. You still have your own life to manage and chores!

Your week looked both busy and alot of fun, thanks for sharing. I can’t believe I won! That’s so crazy. I have a monster KB and really wanted to get some ideas on how to incorporate it in my workouts safely. I know not everyone has access to a monster, nor the desire to use one, but I really appreciate you making this one time workout and I can’t wait. I also love jumping rope, so i’m even more excited, as if that’s possible. Thank you!!!

Hey girl!! Congrats, I hope you’ll enjoy your workout ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll do my best to kick your butt with it, and I’m sure other members will appreciate that and will thank you for it ๐Ÿ™‚ haha. It was a good choice.

So excited you won!!! Thank you for your awesome suggestion!! I’ve been dying to see a full length workout using the monster bell and love that it will be a jump rope combo! I’ve had one for a while and so look forward to have some new moves and workout buddies to share the pain with ๐Ÿ˜‰
