Positive Attitude
Blog | November 02, 2018
I believe that a positive attitude is the key to our happiness! Your attitude is something that you are in complete control of, no matter what’s going on in your life. It might not solve your problems but it will affect the quality of your life and make a positive change in the lives of your loved ones. I want us to focus on this every single day, because this emotional fitness helps us to take our physical fitness to the next level!
Another way of looking at your attitude is picturing it like a magnet. Depending on your thinking, you can create opportunities that have the power to negatively or positively affect your life.
For example, if all you do is come up with excuses for your struggle to stay fit or lose weight, then you’ll only be setting yourself up for failure. You’ll be blind to the ways you can succeed, and are only focusing on what you perceive to be as ‘obstacles’.
On the flip side, what if you started believing in yourself? That you had the ability to change your life, and do whatever you aspired to achieve? Think about that! Like a magnet, you’ll start attracting things that can help you. You’ll start noticing different ways to fit a workout in, or enjoy a delicious, healthy meal. If anything gets in the way of your goal, you don’t submit to defeat but instead find a way to stay on track. Instead of freaking out about going on vacation and missing your workouts, you can think cleverly and bring along some sliders, or a jump rope. You can also stay active, walking wherever you go, killing two birds with one stone from sightseeing and being on your feet. You see, just by tweaking your attitude, you attract creative thinking, and the right things that can help.
Negative attitude is just a lack of resourcefulness. Lack of creativity. The good news is that you can totally train your mind and even rewire your brain to become more creative and resourceful. It’s a muscle that needs to be trained.
Remember changing your attitude is not about lying to yourself about how much you love working out or eating healthy. It’s about changing your perspective about it and finding a way to actually enjoy a healthy lifestyle. There are a few tricks you can use.
- Pretend method. Find a quiet place where you can sit down, relax, and close your eyes. Now imagine yourself as someone who loves working out and eating healthy. How does this person think? How does she feel? What does she do every day? At first you’re going to be like an actress playing a role, but if you do this exercise often you will be able to take what you imagine and implement it into your own life.
- Come up with at least 10 creative ways to enjoy exercising and eating healthy. How about signing up for interesting sports or classes? Examples: Hip Hop Dance class, Krav Maga, Kick Box, Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Skiing, Parkour. Think out of the box. If working out is boring right now, maybe you need to engage in something more stimulating. Trust me, once you pick up a sport, you’ll end up working out eventually, because you’ll do anything to excel in your chosen activity. As for eating healthy, maybe you can sign up for cooking classes so that you can create delicious healthy meals. Imagine inviting your friends and family for fancy healthy dinners you prepared yourself. This exercise is very powerful and I recommend doing it every day and changing your ideas. (You can apply it to other areas of your life as well. For instance, try to come up with 10 ideas on how to free up your time so you can squeeze in your daily workout. Some of the ideas may not be good, some of them might be downright useless but the point of this exercise is to train your mind to be more inventive and capable to create solutions instead of coming up with excuses.) Practice, and don’t let your brain become lazy; it will only continue to produce excuses.
- Find a deeper meaning for creating change. This requires you to sit down and completely immerse yourself in your thoughts. Ask yourself these questions: What will I gain if I start exercising and eating healthy on a daily basis? What are the small rewards and what are the ultimate rewards of this lifestyle? Allow yourself to become emotional. You need to feel; not just think about all the benefits. The second half of this exercise is to ask yourself quite the opposite: What will I lose or what negative impacts am I going to experience if I don’t change? Really think about all the suffering you have to endure due to your lack of motivation and your current lifestyle. How is it going to get worse over time? Let it affect you. Let it make you cry. Human beings have evolved to avoid pain and seek pleasure. If you’re in a place where you feel more numb than anything else, then evoking emotions about your current situation-good and bad-is what’s needed for you to finally take action.
So with anything in life, always consider giving your attitude a check up. Is it serving you in this moment, or leading you down a road of sabotage?
Let’s start tuning in to our attitude- check in with me below and tell me how you plan to be in control!
Best,

Zuzana, I came across your new site by coincidence, knowing you from your older bodyrock times. And the first blog video I could watch is this one. Truly inspirational. I am just in the middle of a heart break, happened on Xmas day, sad but true…kind of passioned love but very difficult situation that turned more and more often into a destructive love/hate situation – kind of Chris Brown and Rihanna I could say. Well this positive attitude blog goes straight to my heart and mind and I will do my best to overcome these hard times. Thanks and happy new year to you!

Good article. It is exactly a continuous process for me to change mindset and perspectives. I have started meditating on free app called Insight meditation since early this year. Its principles are exactly the same as Zuzka’s article. It actually assist to look at things at different perspectives that enable positive outcome. The desirable outcome then motivates oneself to start taking steps to change behaviour for the better. I am now feel the benefits of meditation.

I have some questions before I become a member. I would appreciate a response if possible. Four of my fitness issues are:
1. Lack of daily motivation. No question, I do feel better when I’m active.
2. Finding the right exercises that I will “do” with consistency.
3. Find a fitness trainer who motivates me(I’m interviewing several now).
4. Building endurance and finding exercises that I believe do this at my age. I’ve considered silver sneaker but I don’t think the exercises are intense enough for me at this point of of like
Lots of programs in the local fitness clubs and internet videos, but I do see a exercise diversity and balance in your program that I have yet to see in others.
Any helpful comments before I take that leap of faith and try your program?
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi There,
Motivation is something you have to develop by asking yourself the right questions. A good question would be: Why do I want to be in shape? Try to really think about it and come up with all the great things that come out of this vision of you being in amazing shape. This will be different for everyone. You have to find what moves you. Also try to scare yourself a little, and use it as a leverage. What happens if you don’t take care of your body? You need to generate enough positive and negative emotions that will power your motivation from within.
ZGYM is very easy tool to use for staying consistent. It’s super easy. All you have to do is to show up every day, choose your fitness level from the weekly workout schedule and do the workout for the day. No guess work. Just log in and do it. If you haven’t seen my videos anywhere on Instagram or Youtube and you don’t know me, then you won’t find out if I’m motivating to you until you try a few workouts with me. As for intensity, I have 3 different fitness levels you can choose from. Start with the beginner workouts and if you feel like you need more challenge, then try the intermediate workout schedule. My workouts build muscles, strength, as well as improve cardio and endurance. The workouts are fun, and will challenge your agility and athleticism. I have very young members as well as members who are in their 70’s. I hope this helps!
