Two Skinny Types of People
Blog | October 14, 2013
Today I came across an interesting article in Huffpost by Scott Mowbray called “Who’s thin and why.” In his theory there are two skinny types of people. The first type that he calls “the congenitals”, naturally and unconsciously eat just enough to maintain their weight, and keep their body composition on the thin side. The second type “the habituals” are those of us that have to apply their conscious will power on a daily basis, and every time we sit down to eat, in order to maintain a healthy weight.
What about the third type of people that doesn’t fit in either of those 2 previous categories? The type of people that wishes secretly or openly to have the genetics to be naturally thin or the motivation and will power to achieve their goal. What label should we give those people? What about “passive complainers” ?
If you happen to fall into the third category, it still doesn’t mean that things can’t change for you. While there is a very little to no chance to change your DNA, you can still turn into the hardworking and super motivated type at any point of your life. As a matter of fact, you can decide right now that you will commit to daily exercise, healthy diet, and smaller portion sizes.
If that doesn’t work for you, then you could still join the fourth type of people that just don’t give a rats butt about their body composition or fitness alone. These people also never complain because they maintain their confidence by just being simply brilliant people and their focus is usually based around mental rather than physical activities.
Whatever type you may be today, does not indicate what kind of person you’ll be tomorrow, and the most important thing is to be happy with who you are. That said, do not be a passive complainer, because that is literally the worse thing you can do for yourself and everyone around you. Take an action today and show the world who you really are.
All the best,
Zuzka
P.S. That’s not an ice cream in the bowl. It’s a plain yogurt with blueberries, pecans, and Salba.

Thanks Z for the positive and uplifting message for the day! I feel like I’m at the point now where the changes I’ve made in my life are reflecting on others and I am able to help my friends and family make changes and see similar results in their own lives! It’s such an AWESOME journey!

hm.. it’s type 2 for the TAH. I truly have to work at it, but that’s okay because it helps me see that I CHOSE to do the right thing about my health. I’m also the kind that likes to help others see they can make better choices because I am ALWAYS having to consciously work on it myself. thanks for sharing, Z ♥

What about the type that is so obviously missing: the ones that do not have to try at all, eat whatever they want, and despite all of that, stay thin? Of course, many of them are not healthy or lean, but they should still be included… they’re out there! What shall we call them, the “Metabituals?”

According to Ayurvedic principles (if you like yoga then it’s especially for you;-) there are three body types (Kapha, Pitta and Vatta). Only the Vatta people were born frail and have a tendency to be skinny naturally. If you were not born vatta, you can do you want but you’ll never be skinny really. BUT you can eat healthy and exercice and it will reward you with a nice, strong body with beautiful muscles (like Zuzka)! Google it if you want to know more, it’s pretty cool to know about your body type!

Thanks Cendrine! This is totally new information! New and fascinating 🙂 It has taken me years to embrace my body type – unless I starve myself, I will never be able to be skinny BUT I can work to have beautiful muscles like Zuz’s! Or… as Zuzka lovingly describes – “don’t give a rat’s butt” about physical definition but live a BRILLIANT life just being myself! Whether I remain toned and fit, or gain some weight and look rounder, I am still an awesome person inside out 😉

I used to be a stick. After having children, I gained 60 pounds, and lost 50 pounds. Now I have the vanity weight to get off, plus toning. Now I work my butt off to stay skinny. Toning is a new thing for me. I am a type two.. because I must make a conscious effort to keep my eating in check and work out 6 days a week. I’ve seen my body change in the last 6 months. Especially since I’ve started the ZGYM series. The last 2 months I’m see my stomach begin to disappear and my body’s stamina increase. Its so nice to feel GREAT about how my body can handle my every day regimen. Thanks Z!!

Great post thanks! Most people have to really work at and if we pay close attention, the most fit and slender people in our lives DO work hard at keeping that way. Thanks for reminding to just do it and not talk about it 😉
