Are You a Carb Addict? There is a cure...

I think that one of the most common comments I read from people is about their love for carbohydrates and their struggle trying to avoid eating these in your diet. I’m talking about those delicious, crunchy breads… sweet, savory cookies… _________.  The answer is: Yes.  I do eat these foods BUT they’re not free.  Here’s a video to help explain…

I had a lot of fun shooting this video, I definitely made sure to shoot one of my X workouts because some of these shots needed more than one take so I ate a lot of bread and ice cream for the sake of being funny 😉

In all seriousness though, earning your carbs is a great way to enjoy the foods you crave while staying on track with your fitness and weightloss goals.  Nothing tastes better than when you earn it after pushing yourself through an intense workout! Trust. Me.

If you’re addicted to carbs and want to see how strict you should be about your carb intake, try taking the Carbohydrate Tolerance Test.

If you aren’t already familiar with how I break down my meals on a regular basis, read more about my FM (Free Meal) and (WEM) Workout Earned Meals.  It also includes a list of benefits from a controlled low carb diet.

Let me know what you think!  Have you ever been caught eating ice cream in your closet or hiding crackers under your pillow? Share your struggles with carb addiction, we are here to help! 🙂

One huge reason I love working out with Zuzka is that she is the real thing! She has tough times like us all…and opens herself up and shares her vulnerability with us. I truly appreciate that!

What I have learned and works for me the majority of times, is to create healthy renditions of my favorites. I don’t eat gluten anymore and that really helps! I have the best gluten free pizza crust I make and so I can eat pizza each night without gaining an ounce!!! I make an incredible red sauce and load it up with great veggies! I also make a healthy version of enchiladas!!! I use zucchini noodles instead of tortillas. I make deserts, and I have them once a week. They are raw and or gluten free!

Hi Zuzka…you are funny as always! I am not a carb addict but sometimes I do feel like eating some nice carb like a homemade cake (with sugar!!!), bread or few biscuits! In my case, I feel more like eating carbs in the afternoon when I am having my afternoon snacks but need to control it and I try to avoid it eating other things with low carb. See you, take care.

Thank you for this! After a stressful day at work, a starchy dinner (guilt) and an intense keetlebell session (less guilty), this is really the kind of video i needed 🙂 Well i think my hamstrings are dead now.

l am measured with food addictions in carbs, not equally with sugars thankfully. l really enjoy your take on this, (as usual!) .. & not to be a “jewish mother” but.. worried about the stress @ your herniation area (sub bikini line) please look into deep gland massages in that area, with your partner it will enable better circulation so less outward intensity at skin level.

Funny video, Zuzka! This reminds me of a conversation I had with a fellow personal trainer I worked with 10 years ago when I myself was a CPT. We laughed at how we both had self-control for the most part but our husbands would gobble every treat up like it was nothing and still be so thin without the hard work we did. We both confessed that if we wanted any kind of treat we’d hide it or never get a bite. I guess in a way, it was a good thing that we were getting skimped on because it would have affected our training and jobs as trainers. BTW, my husband still does this. LOL! I make healthy foods and treats all the time and he’ll get aggravated and just get his sugar-fix while at work during the day. I’d rather him do this than bring home cupcakes or candy, which he knows that is only acceptable on special occasions. 🙂

This was hilarious! Loved every bit of it! For me, I either go into stealth mode and walk in the pantry and sneak something into my mouth or when Yann leaves the kitchen, I quickly pop something into my mouth! LOL!
