Are You a Carb Addict? There is a cure...
Fitness | August 24, 2015
I think that one of the most common comments I read from people is about their love for carbohydrates and their struggle trying to avoid eating these in your diet. I’m talking about those delicious, crunchy breads… sweet, savory cookies… _________. The answer is: Yes. I do eat these foods BUT they’re not free. Here’s a video to help explain…
I had a lot of fun shooting this video, I definitely made sure to shoot one of my X workouts because some of these shots needed more than one take so I ate a lot of bread and ice cream for the sake of being funny 😉
In all seriousness though, earning your carbs is a great way to enjoy the foods you crave while staying on track with your fitness and weightloss goals. Nothing tastes better than when you earn it after pushing yourself through an intense workout! Trust. Me.
If you’re addicted to carbs and want to see how strict you should be about your carb intake, try taking the Carbohydrate Tolerance Test.
If you aren’t already familiar with how I break down my meals on a regular basis, read more about my FM (Free Meal) and (WEM) Workout Earned Meals. It also includes a list of benefits from a controlled low carb diet.
Let me know what you think! Have you ever been caught eating ice cream in your closet or hiding crackers under your pillow? Share your struggles with carb addiction, we are here to help! 🙂

Zuzka, maybe you could come up with a series of mini workouts that you can do right before an unexpected carb meal! Mini but effective to that it would still give you the green light to eat carbs!!

Haha, great vid Zuzka. I crave carbs sometimes, but find it’s more knowing what to eat in a hurry that I struggle with.
I would love to see a weekly meal plan please. xx

I think the only reason people took offense to this is because you hit a nerve. I used to be a binge eater and I hid food under my bed all the time. Your way of eating has helped me immensely, Zuzka. I am learning to have a better relationship with my food these days.

I have a really bad habit of getting up in the middle of the night and eating sweets. I can go all day without eating breads, pastas, cookies and all the bad stuff, but when that witching hour comes around, watch out. I need help on how to get past that. I love your video, very funny.

Hi there, I am commenting here because it seems a relevant enough place to ask this question. I am wondering if you would be able to eventually make a video, Zuzka, about raw vegan diets, including high fat ones and high fruit/carb ones. I’m curious about your opinions about it.
I study Traditional Chinese Medicine, in which these diets are considered very cold in nature, damaging to the digestive functions, but also very cleansing. They are considered, here, to be specifically for people of certain body constitutions, or living in certain climates. And even as such, the lack of animal sources makes it highly imbalanced and will eventually lead to deficiencies and disharmony.
So it’s interesting to see certain gurus who appear legitimate. I am taking a dietetics class at school, and we have an assignment to make a dietary shift for 3-7 days, then to write about it. I am considering trying a diet based on Kristina Carillo-Bucaram, or the leader of “FullyRaw”. She seems to me to be the most legitimate example of someone who has actually benefited from a mostly fruit diet. But she also lives in Texas…She claims to have healed herself of hyperglycemia, and has now been “fully raw” for 10 years.
So I live in central California, and have access to plenty of local fruit without it being super expensive.
I’m trying this purposely because it so against the career field I am studying and advancing in. I like to test dogma and challenge paradigms. 🙂
I’m going into this thinking that there really is not “one correct diet” for all. But I’d like to see how this dietary shift affects me.
Anyway, I’d love to hear your feedback. Especially since these trendy diets are gaining in popularity.
