I’ve asked this on another recipe but never got a responce, so here it goes again…

How is this a FM when it has so many carbs? I just plugged the amounts into my tracker and it came up with over 90 grams of carbs for the entire recipe!

Even if this makes 2 servings, that is still a lot :/

Fruit should not be equated with “carb”. It is a whole food. Starches and simple sugars are also completely different, and I invite you to research the health efffects of fruit sugars versus, say starches in potato chips. There are very complex interactions between all the phytonutrients. How the body actually assimilates fruits also differs from other carbohydrate rich foods. Fruit sugar has relatively the least effect on insulin. The idea that fruit is a carb, will impede weight loss, spike someone’s blood sugar (unless they are very insulin resistant) is very false. Fruit in moderation (not eaten excessively) is extremely nutritious and also amazing prebiotic food for our microbiome in our gut, which influences our total health and immunity. Anyway, I don’t want to continue, but reducing a natural food into one of its components is part of the food dogma that makes it hard for people to become confused and stick to a healthy diet.

This sounds amazing. I think it’s not warm enough here yet (at least not this week while it’s been raining and cool, foggy…). But this sounds so delicious. I like the addition of coconut milk. I’d never thought of that. I might add a slight more coconut milk. Maybe figs instead of strawberries……

Oooo…fig/coconut milk smoothie of some sort. Maybe fig/avocado/coconut… You have me dreaming of fruit now, Z……:)
