Post Workout Low Caloric Smoothie (WEM)
Recipes | January 18, 2015
I don’t count calories, because it can get pretty annoying and it borderlines with obsession, however having a basic idea of how much calories is in the meals that you eat the most often, is not a bad thing. Most people buy the same exact 20 ingredients over and over, so knowing a lot about them will help you make better choices in term of portion sizes. I wanted to share with you this special little smoothing I made the other day after my workout using the Vita Source supplements. It’s basically a meal replacement because it contains all the amino acids, veggies, fruit, and even healthy fats. It’s really effective for weight loss and fat loss, because it gives you all the nutrients a meal should have without the extra calories. For those of you who signed up for the diet bet, you guys should consider this as your post workout meal. If I wanted to lose weight, I would stick with FM breakfast, lunch and dinner and I’d have this or similar smoothie after my training.
P.S. You can buy these supplements online from Vitasource in case you didn’t win in my latest Giveaway.
Ingredients:
1 scoop of Vita Whey protein (50 cal)
1 scoop of Supreme Greens (0 cal)
1/2 tsp Ground Flax Seeds (15 cal)
1/2 frozen banana (50 cal)
1/4 cup frozen blueberries (21 cal)
1/2 cup water (0 cal)
_______________________
136 cal total
Add all the ingredients into a blender and make a smoothie. I use my Vitamix blender for everything because it doesn’t ruin all the good vitamins and minerals like other blenders do.

Hi Zuzka. Love your recipes!
What could I substitute the banana with? I’ve developed an allergy to bananas, especially raw ones, in the last 2 years.. so bananas in smoothies is , sadly, out of the question for me.
Usually when I make my own smoothies I use peanut butter with frozen raspberries, spinach and zilantro, some greek yoghurt and chia seeds.
Thanks, You rock! 🙂

This smoothie came out really yummy, I made it tonight after doing the Benchmark workout (which was super hard) and it felt so refreshing and satisfying to drink this smoothie after.

Hello :)I’ve been a follower of yours quite some time.
Your style is convenient and simply straight forward when it comes to workouts and different kinds of question. Its cool and please keep it up. :)
Can I ask you about timing for food consuming? Most of the time I’ll finish my workout almost around 8pm, I know meals shouldn’t be having after evening if one wants a lean body
but I also knew that there has to be at least a post workout protein drink has to be consumed
So what should I take ?

Hi Zuzka, Just wanted to say I love your workouts, all are so inexpensive and easily done at home. I have a quick question about developing muscles in the arms. Your arms look great of course, and I know they should with all the hard work and time you put in. But could you give me a quick run down as to what are the most beneficial exercises for developing muscles in the arms, how many reps and if I should continue to add weight over several weeks to see the most progress. Also, would adding more protein to my diet help to develop more muscles. I know some women are afraid of “bulking up”, but I think your arms are perfect, I want mine to look just like yours! Thanks so much for your time!
