I just bought the Shred and glow mealplan few days ago, but no regrets. I tried keto last summer, and would try again but when the season is right. I don’t want to miss on certain fruits/veggies when is the best time of year to get out of these nutritions. I heard indeed that urine stripes are not the best, but a monitor would be quite an investment…we’ll see what Shred and Glow brings.
I do however modify recipes to make them LECTIN-FREE. This is my go-to nutrition approach. whatever the rest.

I was looking at the keto blood monitor and the test strips are VERY expensive. Is there a place online to buy them that doesn’t cost $1 or more per test strip??? To be able to test daily be out of my budget after the first month or two, not to mention the initial cost of the monitor.

My problem is to stick to a meal plan.. Let s say, to make some fat bombs and eat just 1 or 2. For me there is hard any leftovers. If I cook something I have to eat it all or get out of the apartment. I don t know how to work around this and make it ease on me to live with available food around me.. Any suggestions? :/ 🙁

Think about something difficult you had to overcome in the past. The hardest thing you’ve overcome in life. I’m sure you can think of something. Really get into the moment and give yourself the credit for being strong, and brave. Now think about the simple task of leaving the extra food alone. I’m sure it will put things into perspective for you.

ha,ha, I have the same problem. kids and hubby have all sorts of food available around and can hardly stick to my healthy food. I hope I can at least instill awareness and willing to cook to my son (11yr) for now. Surely we need to be mentally stronger. but it is feasible, provided we know there will be ups and downs and we don’t throw it all out. every day is another day and we can pick ourselves up and restart.

So random as I have been doing Keto but not as I think I need to…this is because I do not like to cook and have not much time! However I have been doing extremely well with the very limited things that I do eat which are 98% Keto in nature! I can do better! Now I think I can really hit this home. For those of you who want a real scientific and easy lesson in the history of Keto PLEASE watch on Netflix “The Magic Pill”. 1.5 hrs and THE best thing I have taken in yet on Keto. Maybe it’s because I’m a nurse and I’m a visual learner. This was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! You will totally get it and have a few AH-HA moments as well. My BF even watched it (he found it actually) and was is awe. He is Hispanic and loves his sugar and bread. His mom is diabetic and he will be too if he doesn’t pay attention. I do believe this got his attention. Enjoy all this eating has to offer…HEALTH!

This is a really silly question, but I don’t want to get lost in Google thread conversations. I’m allergic to avocado, so I obviously can’t enjoy it with it’s benefits. Anyone know of a good substitute? Anything helps! Thanks.

I’m not a nutritionist, but in my experience (I used to dislike avocados, which is weird, but I’ve recovered my senses, thankfully–so sorry you’re allergic!), I used to replace them with a similar serving of nuts, like almonds or macadamia nuts, or even walnuts or pecans (not cashews or pistashios as they are higher in carbs). Half an avocado is about the carb/fat/calorie content of a 1 oz. serving of nuts, and they are also a healthy fat with good benefits, though obviously different in some ways. That or just more fat–like an extra serving of coconut or olive oil on a salad or in a smoothie, instead of an avocado. Hope that helps!

Super helpful, Thank you for replying! I love avocado.. unfortunately it now makes my throat too itchy (It’s a mild allergy, but too scared to push the limit of eating it often). Before it used to not bother me. It’s the craziest thing. Thank you for your advice Krista! 🙂

Hey Nina Z has recipe’s for alcohol drinks on here, there is also a website I LOVE called diet doctor that lists alcohol and whether it is carb free, sugar free, calories, etc…. It was a saving hope for me honestly. I like drinking with my friends on some weekends. I have 5 children so a drink is nice to relax LOL

    Hi Zuzka,
What type of meal plan, or lifestyle, do you follow? You seem to be an advocate of keto but I would imagine you do not live in a ketogenic state all year round? I am currently following your Zshred but omit the cheeses. I recently saw this and it made me wonder what you do on a regular.

In a video for the Keto Meal Plan, I heard her say she will every now and then switch to her 2nd favorite diet which is the low carb diet. But Keto is her 1st favorite way to eat 🙂

How long is advisable to be in ketosis when you need to drop at maximum 10% of fat?

You can stay in keto for as long as you need to – until you reach your goal. Nutritional ketosis is not dangerous, especially if you get variety of veggies and high quality fats and proteins.

and everyday do I need to be in keto or there is some refeed day? or any carb circling? i am interested to have a try but I am afraid not to be so precise and to gain fat and loose muscle.

hi Zuzka… Just one question for this keto diet.. Has this a high carb day? Or circlying keto diet or is it every day high fat plan?
I would like to test it but I am afraid I can not follow all days in a week in high fat diet.
        I have also a coupon
Can I use this to buy the keto plan? Or how can i use it?

hi, this keto meal plan is not a cycling keto.If you have a coupon, it’s most likely for ZGYM membership. We did not issue coupons for Meal Plans.

Is intermediate fasting included in the meal plan?

I would like to know this as well…… I’ve been intermittent fasting for 16 years, its the only way I can eat!! 🙂

She did suggest in the meal plan a 10 hour daily window. Other than that it is up to us since women are so different I guess. lol

I got the meal plan, and intermediate fasting is not built in. But even without it built in, I would think you should be able to adjust the window of time where you’re eating the meals in order to turn a day into an intermediate fast day. (Though, as far as cutting out a meal…I have no idea if that would mess up any of the ratios to stay in keto or not!)

My husband does intermediate fasting, daily (his body can’t seem to handle things any other way…he can’t even get to sleep if he eats anything after around 1) , so I understand how that can be, needing to tweak the timing a bit!

Thank you. Intermediate fasting was included in the first meal plan. I was just wondering if this one included cutting out carbs and fasting two days a week. 🙂

          Hi Nina,

I asked the same question on an different thread and Zuzka said that the intermittent fasting is not necessary on the keto diet as long as you stick to the time restricted eating. So your eating time is between 8-10 hours of the day and only water can be consumed outside of this. Hope this helps!
