The Best Morning Drink For Health and Weight Loss

What is your favorite beverage in the morning? Is it coffee or tea? I love both, but I decided to start my days with a healthy drink from now on. That doesn’t mean that I am giving up on coffee and tea, however it is very important what goes into your system first thing in the morning. That’s why Im starting my days with lemon water. It’s nothing complicated and the benefits are huge. You will need a freshly squeezed juice from 1/2 of a lemon, and 8oz of warm or room temperature water. Squeeze the lemon into the water and if you want you can also add fresh mint. That’s what I do, because I have a fresh mint herb in my kitchen and I am always happy whenever I get the chance to use it.
Here are the benefits of drinking lemon water in the morning on an empty stomach:
1. Lemon water will help you cleanse your body of toxins, which is going to show on your skin. Lemons are full of skin rejuvenating and anti-aging properties.
2. Lemon water will improve your digestion. The lemon juice will activate the production of bile in your digestive system and when combined with warm water, it will flush out un-welcomed stuff out of your body and help with bloating and heartburn.
3. Lemon water eliminates headaches.
4. Lemon water fights infections. The high amount of vitamin C in lemons is a very powerful way to for fighting illnesses.
5. Lemon water helps with weight loss. Lemons are full of pectin fiber, which will regulate your hunger levels.

I do the same, but I add a bit of honey and a tablespoon of chia seeds for the extra boost of energy.

I drink lemon water in the afternoon when I’m craving sweets. 🙂 I grate 1/3 frozen lemon (peel included) and add it to 24oz of water with a little honey. It also gives me energy in the afternoon when I’m having a slump.

I usually have half a glass of water left over from taking my pills the night before. So I drink that first thing after I wake up. –Chris
