Z-SHRED FAT LOSS MEAL PLAN - Coffee Talk with Z
Blog | June 01, 2017
You guys also asked why are the meals in the plan repeating – don’t worry you won’t have to cook the same meal again and again – you’re going to cook once and eat twice or three times. This meal plan is for those of you who have busy life, which is often the reason why people fail to eat healthy. Most people don’t have the time to cook all their meals every day. I don’t have time for that either. I always make extra portions when I cook to have meals ready for the next day. It also helps to save you money and not waste food. Now if you’re someone who can afford to waste food, cook three times a day, and doesn’t like to eat leftovers,Β then I guess this meal plan is not for you π

Wow Zuzka! The meal plan looked great before but after you explain it and show bits and pieces it becomes very apparent how much time, energy, and love π you put into it. Kudos to your team for assisting along the way and getting it launched and in the store. A monumental task that I hope a lot of people appreciate and utilize! I can’t wait for a couple of months from now when we get to hear everyone’s success stories π

I’m starting it on Monday and already got some of my Grociers done today. I’ve been looking over each meal week since yesterday and I like how it will go hand in hand with our ZGYM workouts. Without a doubt you and your team have put an enormous amount of effort in this meal plan with easy navigation. I cannot begin to express how appreciative I am, this is something I believe many of us where waiting for and it was worth the wait. Thank you Zuzka so much and your team as well and btw, the ring is gorgeous on you !!

Can we swap out different snacks for the intermittent 500 calorie days (as long as they add up to only 500) to make more of a “meal” or maybe 2 small “meals” for those days? Also, if I follow the 16:8 rule for all days, is it okay if I don’t eat all 3 meals every day if there is not enough time since it is a smaller window? If this approach does not work with your plan, no worries, I am totally committed to switching my ways! I don’t want to eat too little of food and be tired (like I have been feeling a bit lately). Thanks Z!

You can swap the snacks for the Intermittent Fasting days and you can totally choose to eat just one larger meal that day as long as you fit in with the 500cal.
If you like to follow the 16:8 rule, that’s totally fine. This is a fat loss meal plan and your way of eating is not going to sabotage that, quite the opposite. I encourage people to stick just to those 3 main meals without snacking. The snacks are there just as an option for those really hungry folks π If you’re capable to cut down on food without making yourself really uncomfortable, then you will achieve your fat loss goals really fast.

Awesome! Thank you for answering my question so quickly π . When you say you can swap snacks or eat one larger meal, do you suggest only from your snacks and meals list on your website? I wasn’t sure what the science behind the snacks you picked out are, so I didn’t want to mess with that!

I would suggest the snacks from my website just because you have a guarantee to stay away from sugar and high amount of carbs.

Thanks so much! It has been wonderful to hear back from you (I feel like I’m chatting with a friend π ). I was just thinking, it’s probably best to stick with your snacks on the plan because it might be difficult to calculate 500 calories otherwise (even your snacks)?
Also, switching to your plan is going to be a BIG change (in a really good way I’m sure!) and I know I need to do this for a better quality of life and so that I can spend way more time with my family and friends. Out of curiosity, would extra cardio (treadmill type) hinder or speed up fat loss results? I never understood the best strategy π I’m just so determined to finally turn my life around to be the best version of me because of you!
As always, take care and happy Friday!!!

Hi Katie, It’s best to stick with the snacks not only for the calorie content but also for the nutrition benefits. Not all calories are created equal. I you want to add more cardio, I don’t see why not. Just make sure you’re not too exhausted to do your ZGYM workouts. Your goal is to build lean muscles so that you burn more fat. Cardio burns fat in the moment but it won’t help in the long run like high intensity training and strength training.

Perfect π Done and done. I am guessing it doesn’t make much of a difference if I do low steady state or high intensity interval cardio training?
P.S. For Monday’s power green breakfast recipe you mention using 2 glass pie plates. Does this mean you separated the recipe (4) into 2 trays? So I would separate 5 eggs in one, 5 in the other, etc and then slice out 1/2 of piece each day instead of a 1/4 since it is in 2 trays? Just want to make sure I’m reading it right π

I have the same question, thank you for asking π

Hi Zuzka, you have the BP coffee in the snack list.. It was used to be my breakfast so far. It was smth like this : BP coffee, workout, go to work, have lunch after 3-4h.. Should I drop the habit and have normal coffee before working out and then take the WEM meal of the Zshred plan for breakfast? What do you suggest?

Yes, the BP Coffee is there as a snack option. The only thing to keep in mind is that it does have calories and it is filling – if you’re not hungry after you drink the coffee, then you don’t need to eat breakfast. Excess of calories will result in weight gain, so make sure to listen to your body and always wait till you hungry.

Do you suggest then better to stick to your plan and take breakfast these 8 weeks if I have the time? I always had doubts whether bf coffee alone in the mornings is a good option for health and also building muscle. And another question.. I was trying to keep up with a lower carb diet so far. I had only FMs, but in much larger portions… Should I keep on doing so or should stick to your plan? Again in terms of well being, health and fat loss..

Zuzka, Does this plan helps to get more ripped? I mean is for weight loss, but im wondering, my goal is to be more toned . Dont want to lose weight… I am 112lb 18% bfat. do you recomend this one or is better to wait for another one??

Yes, this meal plan is for fat loss which means getting more toned. Weight loss might be the side effect if you cut down on calories, but if you eat normally, you can even gain more muscle and get more ripped.

Sugar really is such an addiction!
Zuzka, this might be a rather unusual question but I’d love to know what kind of lighting you use. As someone who is new to the world of website/blog-worthy pictures I’m finding lighting to be a tricky and essential aspect that is so far alluding me.

I prefer natural lighting the most – anytime I have the opportunity to shoot in front of a big window or outside in a shade, I do that. It’s more tricky when you want to shoot inside, but there are plenty of options – ring light, flexi lights, umbrellas. The best is to go to a store that specializes in photography and video, tell them in which conditions you usually shoot and they’ll help you out.

Thank you! I’ll definitely look into stores around here and go get some professional insight. π
