Homemade Low Carb Chocolate (FM)

Recipes | June 30, 2014

It’s been a while since I had an actual store bought chocolate, made out of all the usual ingredients including sugar or sugar alcohols. I used to eat that almost every day, can you believe that? Of course, that’s why I was so often at the dentist’s office. I guess mom was right.  I’m trying to be good with my low carb diet and it’s been paying off in terms of more energy and less cellulite. That’s why I’m so excited about recipes such as this one, because it’s sugar free, low carb and gluten free dessert that is also very versatile.

This recipe falls into both lifestyle diets that I’ve been cycling through. The Ketogenic and the Low Carb diet. The Ketogenic diet is sometimes hard to sustain even tho it makes me feel awesome and gives me the most amount of energy. It’s really strange but the high fat diet makes me feel more calm, I have no mood swings and I can work all day without getting tired. The only downside is that if I eat more then 25g of carbs from other sources than veggies, it kicks me out of Ketosis and I love my fruit! So I decided to give myself low carb days and Keto days to balance it out. Some research shows that cycling these two is really good for spiking up your metabolism, by going back and forth from a fat burning to a carb burning mode.

Enjoy your homemade low carb chocolate and make sure to watch the video above to get the recipe and list of ingredients!

Best,

Zuzka.

Note: This is for the entire recipe, not individual portions, which are going to vary depending on both the size and amount you’re going to eat. Just like you wouldn’t consume an entire cake or container of ice cream, you wouldn’t be choking down this entire recipe in one go. Relax, enjoy the treat, and be mindful of your portions.

Hi zuzka, tried the recipe, but you didn’t mention how much coconut oil to use so I just guessed, And it didn’t seem same consistency as yours. Got the blender, and all ingredients but wondering if also I didn’t blend for long enough?

Sophie, I used at least half a cup coconut oil and it turned out runny like Zuzka’s!
