Poached Salmon in White Wine Garlic Dill Sauce and Steamed Broccoli (FM)
Recipes | August 14, 2015
This is a meal that you can enjoy for lunch and dinner without having to earn it with your workout (FM). The poached salmon has a delicious fresh flavor and goes great together with steamed broccoli. It’s a nutrient dense, healthy low calorie meal. I recommend to add an avocado to bring up the fat and calories especially if you’re doing Keto.
*Yields 4 Portions
Ingredients
Four 4 oz fresh salmon steaks
4 cups broccoli florets
1 shallot sliced thin
2 cloves garlic – coarsely chopped
1 clove garlic – minced
1 cup water
1 cup sour white wine
Fresh dill springs for poaching and garnish
Salt & Pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 450F degree.
2. To steam broccoli on the stove top, start by adding a couple of inches of water in the bottom of a pot. Place a steamer basket (or a strainer or colander that fits on top of your pot) add the broccoli. Bring to a boil and cover to allow the steam to build up. It should take about 5-7 minutes to steam a broccoli. The broccoli should have a bright colour and be crunchy. If the colour is dark and the florets are too soft, it’s overcooked.
3. Pour the water and wine into a large sauce pan and heat it to a simmer on medium heat. Add a spring or two of the dill, 1 clove minced garlic, shallot, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Place the Salmon in the sauce pan skin side down, cover and poach for 8-12 minutes. This is shallow poaching so the Salmon is not submerged completely in the water.5. Take the Salmon out of the pan carefully and place it on a plate. Garnish with fresh Italian parsley and a spring of dill. Arange steamed broccoli florets on the plate as well and serve.

Hi Zuzka & Zgym community!
Do you have any other suggestions or alterations you would make your previous keto pancake recipe to make it lower in fat ? I’ve been experimenting with the recipe, but never know what kind or store brand of protein powder works best for this type of recipe. Do you have any other just simple few ingredient low carb recipes you use or know of? For lunch and dinner I often just do chicken, turkey, bison, or fish with a cup of veggies and a cup of leafy greens and maybe a handful of fruit for my sweet tooth. Is this a good method? For snacks I usually do edamame, half an avocado, jerky, or seeds (switching on and off- usually only 2 snacks a day between meals). Any thoughts or suggestions? I love hearing about how you and others are shaping their lives for the better! It’s so inspiring and keeps me going when I have off days or get discouraged 😉
