Skinny Spaghetti Recipe for Fat Loss
Recipes | December 31, 2013
I love pasta and Mediterranean cuisine in general. Actually most of us do, however the delicious pasta and pizza is not the best choice for anyone who is trying to lose weight and/or fat. Luckily we have an awesome substitute for spaghetti that is full of nutrients, high in fibre, and super low in calories.
It is a Spaghetti Squash! YAY! 🙂 Enjoy this skinny spaghetti recipe for fat loss! Just for your information, 1 cup of regular Spaghetti is about 220 calories. 1 cup of Spaghetti Squash is about 40 calories!!! It’s very low calorie pasta substitute that will fill you up thanks to it’s high fibre content.
I have a delicious and simple recipe for you so that you can try your own skinny pasta dinner at home.
Instructions
1. Start by preheating the oven for 375 Fahrenheit. Cut the Squash in half lengthwise.
2. Seed the halves and place them on a baking sheet cut sides down and into the preheated oven. I greased the halves on the inside just a tiny bit with coconut oil. Bake it for about 40 minutes or until you can insert a sharp knife through with just a little resistance.
3. In the mean time prepare your onion and garlic. You will need one half of onion and about 3-4 cloves of garlic. Chop the onion and garlic and saute for a few minutes with a table spoon of olive oil in a medium size sauce pan.
4. Add about a handful of little cherry tomato halves and some white mushrooms.
5. I love my basil plant, because there is nothing better then fresh basil in pasta dish. You can’t even compare it with dried basil. I added about 5-7 small basil leaves into the sauce pan. You want to add the basil towards the end, so that you preserve the fresh flavour.
6. The last thing is mozzarella cheese. You don’t have to be afraid of a slice of cheese. It won’t make you gain weight or fat, it will only add an amazing flavour to your pasta. It’s all just veggies and 1 slice of cheese. It’s perfect!
7. Take the Spaghetti Squash halves out of the oven, have it cool down a little and then just take a fork or a spoon and scoop the stringy pulp out on the plate.
The last step is to pour the tomato, mozzarella, basil sauce over the Spaghetti. Done.
Enjoy your meal,
Z.
