*This smoothie is full of Vitamin C which is a powerful antioxidant that fights against aging and wrinkles. Delicious! I’m battling a nasty virus so this is just what I needed. Only thing I added was a *pinch of black pepper so my body would absorb the turmeric.

hello Erika,
can you please tell me what do you mean you have to add black pepper so you can absorb the turmeric? I didn’t know that and I’ve been making golden milk for a long time… have I been wasting the turmeric by omitting the black pepper?

Ross, I am sure you absorbed nutrients anyway! 🙂 But it has been proven by some studies that if you consume black pepper along with turmeric, it enhances turmeric’s properties and it is better absorbed.

Hi Ross.. I wouldn’t say you have been wasting it!! the research I have done explains that the piperine in black pepper blocks the liver from quickly ridding our body of curcumin (what we want from turmeric). Add just a pinch to your milk!! Oils and fats also assist this…bottom line it’s the way our liver prosesses certain foods. Nutritionfacts.org has a good explanation. I hope this helps!!

What about add a slice of avocado? Fats helps to absorb better beta-carotene…! And it tastes delicious!

I loved this one! Didn’t have strawberries so I added rasberries and passion fruite instead. Also added some almondmilk since it was to thick to drink otherwise. I need to make this one with some protein powder for breakfast tomorrow!!!

This is awesome! The perfect smoothie for summer days! I will try it with pineapple instead of strawberries, too. Delicious! Definitely a favorite!

This is very good! Drinking it right now. I used stevia instead of swerve cause that’s what I have.
