Recipes | December 29, 2015
*This recipe yields a large portion of the salad, use only about 3-4 tbsp on your almond bread
Ingredients:
1/2 lb smoked turkey sausage (means it’s already cooked, it’s not a raw sausage)
1 tbsp grapeseed oil
1 tbsp ketchup
1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp mustard
1 tsp Monk Fruit or Swerve (erythritol) sweetener
1 large shallot finely chopped
1 medium size pickle finely chopped
a couple of tablespoons of mayo (you can use avocado mayo from Thrive Market)
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan bring the oil, ketchup, vinegar, mustered, Worcestershire sauce, and erythritol to boil, then immediately set the sauce aside to let it cool down.
- Shred the turkey sausage (you can use a blender) and mix with mayo, finely chopped shallot and pickle. Add the sauce and mix well.
- Serve on an almond bread. Garnish with fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley.
*Store the leftover salad in a tupperware in the refrigerator

This looks really good and I want to try it. I also wanted to share this pre-mixed almond bread mix. It is the Simple Mills brand Artisan Bread Almond Flour Mix. I made it last night, and it was great!! The mix is almond flour, arrowroot powder, flax meal, baking soda, sea salt, organic coconut sugar. You just add eggs, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and water depending on which type of bread you want to make. I added garlic powder and herbs, and it was so satisfying.
