Hi Z,
I have the same problem as Jacqui. So I really love the idea of a mobility series. Looking forward to this π

Dear Zuzka, Thank you for your love and honest way of being. I learnt a lot from you β€οΈ
I keep my request to have more things for real beginners

I am glad to hear that you are getting better. Even when we get hurt, there is always something to learn from it and I believe that you being positive about it all sure makes a huge difference. As for the mobility and flexibility series I am looking forward to it! I kind of have the same problem as Jacqui. I can got a bit lower, but at one point I have to lift my heels off the ground in order to go lower. I would be really happy to work on that π Have a great week everyone!

It was last year when I I learned the hard way to stop stretching the crap out of my hip flexors, and focus on strengthening them, but I’ve been lazy. Your video was a reminder for me. Thanks for showing your hip flexor strengthening moves. I also suffer from anterior pelvic tilt thats cemented in muscle memory (driving my ballet teacher nuts) and its so hard to retrain “frozen, elongated” muscles. Thankfully I don’t suffer lower back pain, but I’ve had hip pain in the past and knee pain now, so I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s postural therapy. Speedy recovery Zuzka!

Loved the coffee talk. I also have anterior pelvic tilt, so looking forward to tomorrow. Im confused though, how can you have weak gluteus medius. Doesn’t the legs like a dancer moves with the hips turned out, and the power band abduction moves strengthen the medius enough?

It could be dysfunctional due to knots (soft tissue build up) and poor recovery. Again it could have gone stiff and stiff muscle is a weak muscle.

I too was so surprised to hear that of all things, Zu’s gluteus medius was causing the problems. Just because she always seems to cover such a variety of exercises that work those specific muscles. Really highlights the importance of good posture and the therapy that goes along with it!!!

Thats true, it shows we cant neglect recovery and postural therapy. I admit I was never doing postural therapy… Even though my posture is terrible and hunched, I hoped working out would be enough. But this weeks postural therapy felt good and I will do it weekly from now on. Thanks Zuzka for sharing your experiences so we can learn from it.

Thank you for this coffee talk and for your honesty, Zuzka π So, so happy to see you tomorrow at the ZGYM!
Looking forward for the new series, I have a bad upper back posture which gets worse as I curve it even more when I’m at the computer… and I do that lots of hours every day. I don’t remember if you have a postural therapy for this part of the back at the ZGYM? Can you or anybody else help me with this? I would really appreciate it, thanks very much π

There’s a postural therapy workout for every body part but you need to pick based on where the pain is. Or you can also pick based on your specific condition. Read through each condition and determine which one is you: https://zuzkalight.com/category/zgym/series-title/postural-therapy/

I have exactly the same problem that Jacqui has: I canβt squat all the way down with my heels on the floor, except if my feet are towards the exterior (second position ballet, external rotation). I thought it was more because I have very long legs and a short torso, but what I understand is that I should be very careful because Iβve a lack of mobility in my hips… If you have exercise Zuzka for us, would be amazing! And thank you for what you share with us, we learn a lot form you!

Hi zuzka. This was a very informative coffee talk. I have been dealing with lower back pain since an injury when i was 19. it had gone away but came back about 3 years ago when i started weight lifting very heavy. like you said, i thought it was tight hip flexors, but today what you said makes so much sense and finally put things into perspective for me. so on that note, i’m looking forward to this new mobility and flexibility series but at the same time i’m hoping you continue with strength and flexibility. Thanks for all you do π
