Introducing The Beast

Blog | January 08, 2016

introducing_the_beast_post

The 2015 was a year of recovery for me. I was recovering in terms of my business, finances, mental health and also my physical health. Mentally, I haven’t given up on myself 🙂 I’m getting better and keeping the crazy under control. Business is great, we’re stable again and I have a lot of great things to look forward to. One of the greatest news is that my back feels amazing again. It took time for me to recover completely from the back issues I had in 2014. I’ve been very diligent with my postural therapy routines and very careful with my workouts, which was essential for my recovery, but it built up enormous tension inside of me. The limitations I had to face were stopping me from training the way I really wanted to. I wanted to use my heavy kettlebell, I wanted to do more challenging exercises, I wanted to get more flexible, but my back kept telling me I wasn’t ready. Getting rid off the stiffness in my lower back, and sciatica pains completely, took months and months of at home therapy. By the way, I have some great routines in my Postural Therapy series in the ZGYM for any of your chronic or injury related pains.

I finally feel free and ready to rock. That’s why I’m bringing the Beast into my workouts. She’s a 44lb beauty that will help me to build fuller and rounder glutes, strong back, legs and abs .Don’t get me wrong, you can absolutely built a strong, athletic, and gorgeous body with your medium size kettlebell with the workouts we already have. We’ve been doing this for years and it’s been working, but I wouldn’t want to stay in one place and put limits on what we can do. If you do have the option to get your own Beast, go for it. If not, you can still be excited for the brand new AWESOME and supercharged ZGYM workouts – especially the new routines in your favorite Lifted Butt Series next week!!

Now, let’s get to the reasons why you should consider owning and training with a heavy kettlebell.

1. Muscle size – don’t worry ladies, we won’t be growing huge arms and shoulders. We’re going to use the extra weight to put some meat on our glutes.

2. Strength – why would you say no to an obvious benefit.

3. Muscular endurance – the longer you can sustain a high intensity activity the more calories you’ll burn which is helpful in keeping your weight under control. It will also make you faster. Imagine going through some of my most intense ZGYM workouts with minimum breaks and beating your personal bests in time and reps. Your new progress tracker* would be very happy 🙂

*Progress tracker is a new tool for my ZGYM members that allows them to keep track of their workout performance.

Some of you have just started working out with me, so I would suggest you to just get used to working out with your medium size kettlebell and build some stamina. You will know when you’re ready to take it to the next level.

There are many of you guys that have been working out with me for years and I know you’re itching for something that will take your training to the next level. This is it. 2016 is the year we’ll show the world how awesome we can be 🙂 let’s do this!!

I found some deals on Amazon that you can take advantage of and get your beasty 44 or 45lb (if you’re an average woman) kettlebell for cheaper price: Kettlebells on Amazon

I was given a 35 lb. Kettlebell for Christmas from my husband! I LOVE the added weight to my swings, deadlifts and Russian twists! I wouldn’t attempt a snatch though!!! Soon, when I can fit it into my budget, I want a 50# bell! So glad to hear your back problems have eased and I wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!!! Blessings to you!

Yay I can’t wait for the lifted butt series next week!! I have a 30lb kettlebell that I have been using for about 2 months now and would like to be able to move toward 45lb, but I have really weak wrists and would sometimes have to go back to my 25lb. Any suggestions Zuzka? I wear wrist protection on all the workouts that I do, but my wrists doesn’t like it when I lift heavier weights 🙁

You don’t have to worry about your wrists when using the heavy kettlebell because we won’t be using it for overhead presses. Just swings and deadlifts. I think that 30lb kettlebell is a lot of weight to be able to press overhead (for a woman) and very impressive. I myself don’t feel the need to push my limits there. If it’s not your big dream to be pressing heavy kettlebells, I suggest you stick to your 25 lbs.

I will definitely get one 🙂 already checked them on ebay. We will be moving soon (fingers crossed by the end of Feb) and I will have my own gym in the house 🙂 My dream will finally come true. Then I can get all the equipment I’ve been dreaming of and never had enough room. So beast and the pull up bar will be on my shopping list when we finally move in 🙂

I bought my 26 lb KB through Kettlebell USA. I really love it. They’re priced decent and its not as rough on my hands as my others. They do free shipping too! 🙂 http://www.kettlebellsusa.com

Hi, Zuzka! I have a barbell- is it appropriate for new exercise or must be KB. My KB are 12 and 16 kg. I want more mass in lower body!

Z, I will also ask my dr, but do you think the exercises in the next LBR will be good for ischial bursitis recovery? I fear using any more weight than my 25lb and even suspect I damaged my hamstring using that. Glad you recovered and I know how you feel. I want so badly to get better and improve my fitness. Any postural therapy suggestions? I think my problem is I never rest it.

My first comment is moderation, but also meant to ask what you mean by “adding meat ” to our glutes. I’ve seen that lots of the new popular workouts are called things like “big booty workout “. I feel like I
Already have more than enough meat for my small frame. Not looking for a J-lo butt, but to lift and firm the one I have !

Exactly. What woman needs to add anything to her butt? Most of us needs to make it smaller. Firmer? Yes! Bigger? No thanks. But maybe Zuzka means stronger (rather than bigger) glutes?

She probably meant that. Well I think. 🙂
In my case, without squats and lower body training, even if I’m overweight, my booty is somewhat flat. I’m not dreaming of a J-Lo booty either but I want additional meat too! Hehe
