Introducing The Beast

Blog | January 08, 2016

introducing_the_beast_post

The 2015 was a year of recovery for me. I was recovering in terms of my business, finances, mental health and also my physical health. Mentally, I haven’t given up on myself 🙂 I’m getting better and keeping the crazy under control. Business is great, we’re stable again and I have a lot of great things to look forward to. One of the greatest news is that my back feels amazing again. It took time for me to recover completely from the back issues I had in 2014. I’ve been very diligent with my postural therapy routines and very careful with my workouts, which was essential for my recovery, but it built up enormous tension inside of me. The limitations I had to face were stopping me from training the way I really wanted to. I wanted to use my heavy kettlebell, I wanted to do more challenging exercises, I wanted to get more flexible, but my back kept telling me I wasn’t ready. Getting rid off the stiffness in my lower back, and sciatica pains completely, took months and months of at home therapy. By the way, I have some great routines in my Postural Therapy series in the ZGYM for any of your chronic or injury related pains.

I finally feel free and ready to rock. That’s why I’m bringing the Beast into my workouts. She’s a 44lb beauty that will help me to build fuller and rounder glutes, strong back, legs and abs .Don’t get me wrong, you can absolutely built a strong, athletic, and gorgeous body with your medium size kettlebell with the workouts we already have. We’ve been doing this for years and it’s been working, but I wouldn’t want to stay in one place and put limits on what we can do. If you do have the option to get your own Beast, go for it. If not, you can still be excited for the brand new AWESOME and supercharged ZGYM workouts – especially the new routines in your favorite Lifted Butt Series next week!!

Now, let’s get to the reasons why you should consider owning and training with a heavy kettlebell.

1. Muscle size – don’t worry ladies, we won’t be growing huge arms and shoulders. We’re going to use the extra weight to put some meat on our glutes.

2. Strength – why would you say no to an obvious benefit.

3. Muscular endurance – the longer you can sustain a high intensity activity the more calories you’ll burn which is helpful in keeping your weight under control. It will also make you faster. Imagine going through some of my most intense ZGYM workouts with minimum breaks and beating your personal bests in time and reps. Your new progress tracker* would be very happy 🙂

*Progress tracker is a new tool for my ZGYM members that allows them to keep track of their workout performance.

Some of you have just started working out with me, so I would suggest you to just get used to working out with your medium size kettlebell and build some stamina. You will know when you’re ready to take it to the next level.

There are many of you guys that have been working out with me for years and I know you’re itching for something that will take your training to the next level. This is it. 2016 is the year we’ll show the world how awesome we can be 🙂 let’s do this!!

I found some deals on Amazon that you can take advantage of and get your beasty 44 or 45lb (if you’re an average woman) kettlebell for cheaper price: Kettlebells on Amazon

Hi Zuzka. I have two kbs a 15lb and a 25lb. They seem to be good for me and still challenging.
However I do notice after using them, especially for swings, my back is sore for a few days. I really pay attention to posture and focus on form. Also I have used the postural therapy which works fantastic. Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid the back pain/discomfort?
I have not named my kbs but I did have a friend paint the for me😀

I was just looking at buying a 40 lb kettlebell yesterday, then I talked myself out of it. But now that you’ve posted this….I think I might go ahead and buy it! The heaviest I have now is a 30 lb kettlebell. The 40 lb is on sale on amazon right now for $40 including free prime shipping. I just bought some new dumbbells so I feel slightly guilty about buying another KB too, but I know I’ll have it forever—so it’s worth it!

Exactly, you will have it forever! 🙂 It’s impossible to break.
Don’t feel guilty! It’s so badass to have such a heavy kettlebell!

I’m ridiculously tempted to get a BEAST for glut work now. You are creating monsters, Zuzka! warrior beasts 😉 It will be an earned gift after I achieve some other goals.

I am so excited about this! I have a 10lb, 15lb, 18lb, 25lb, 30lb, 35lb, 40lb, and 45lb Kettle bells. I purchased them for a cheap price plus free shipping on Ebay. I actually have two 25lb KB’s and was wondering if we will ever need two of each? I would love to be able to evetually press and such with my 30lb KB. Right now I am using my 35lb for swings, deadlifts and squats and 25 lb for the upper and alternate swings. I would also like to get 35 lb Dumbbells for some exercises. I love the feel of getting stronger. i did your Zwow #55 yesterday and used my 35 lb for the drags and squats and my bum is a nice sore plus it just felt so good and i pushed so hard! I really would like to get strong enough to do pull ups and have wider rounder shoulders and more “cut” look. I look forward to all your advice!!!!

I would love to buy a heavier kettlebell but my back isn’t strong enough for it apparently. When I started doing a lot of kettlebell workouts a couple of months ago I messed up my up upper back. I finally had to go to the chiropractor because it was becoming unbearable. He told me to use the lighter dumbbell (I have an 15 lb and 25 lb) and do more pulling exercises.

Love the fitness tracker. A suggestion for development would be adding a notes section. I like to note down how I felt with certain exercises, how the workout made me feel, things I can improve etc. It is great to look back on past reflections of workouts 🙂
