Have you ever tried to do you workout in a high altitude? I can really recommend it, because it’s worth to have this experience. I’m someone who takes pride in being strong and fit, but I’ve been feeling like a beginner again for past several days doing my workouts in Tahoe. It feels like I’m constantly carrying a heavy weight right on my chest, and on my legs. Now it makes total sense why people who grow up in high altitudes are so much fitter and stronger than us flat landers. If I can give you any fitness tip, try to go for a vacation or a retreat somewhere to the mountains where you can be active and do your workouts on top of that. If I ever organize a retreat for you guys, it will be probably here in Lake Tahoe. Fingers crossed 😉

I did this workout on top of a look out where you can see Lake Tahoe behind me. The view is just as breathtaking as the hike up there 🙂 Have fun with this bonus workout. You’ll need a sturdy chair or you can take it outside and use a bench in the park.

I moved to Colorado a little over a year ago; the foothills. The first time working out, just like you, my body felt very heavy and the HIIT workouts and Reps were a struggle at first, especially sprint training on a treadmill. So you can imagine my elation that I can now do a ZWOW workout, run and stretch all without wanting to die. LOL In fact, when my friend wants to drive 45 minute up the mountain to Estes Park to enjoy fishing, I’ll pack up my mat, weights and Jumprope and challenge my stamina. I still get a bit dizzy at 14,000 Feet in elevation but hopefully by next year will be completely acclimated. FYI: For any flat landers who move to higher elevations or just for a vacation ( I lived in the foothills of CA for 5 and 1/2 years before Colorado and still had to do this….) drink TONS of water, have an Aleve handy, and energy bar and your choice of electrolyte drink. In fact, you may need to take the Aleve before heading up to these elevations…. 10,000 feet plus. Elevation sickness is the WORST feeling and can knock you down for a few days. Thanks for sharing another FANTASTIC workout Zuzka 🙂

Haha, totally agreed! Can you imagine going on vacation with her in Tahoe? That would be so fun. Doing workouts on the beach…:) I want to try surfing there, eventually, though I think it might be colder than the ocean here in Santa Cruz….

You’re going to Tahoe! Lucky you!

Tahoe is my favorite place in the world!! (Not that I’ve been to many places haha). I love it there so much, I absolutely want to live there one day. I’ve gone every summer for the past 6 years and I went in the winter for the first time this past February and it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I grew up in Palm Springs and have lived in San Diego for the past 12 years so I’m kinda ready for a change. I think it’s time for me to get out of So Cal for a while, it’s so crowded and expensive! We might even go back to Tahoe for Christmas so that would make 4 trips in one year! I keep telling my boyfriend that one of these trips, we should just build a shack in the forest and never come back LOL. And yes, the water in Tahoe is SOOO COLD!

Yeah, if you want real seasons and adventure! I am from Napa and lived in Northern Wisconsin (went to college there). So I have lived in VERY different areas, haha. I think Tahoe would be ideal. Having experienced true changes in seasons that are distinct, part of me misses that. It is so amazing to have a real winter. And the best part about Tahoe is that since you’re still in almost the same latitude, the seasons should be more equally divided (unlike where I lived in Wisconsin, where winter was basically half the year). You get the best of everything!

The video is still processing, but just from reading it, I think I know what to do. 🙂

I am excited for those elevated plank jumps to side panks. Sounds fun! I’ll try them with my bench, or maybe a wall….

Thank you, Z! I love Lake Tahoe. Lucky you! It’s so nice all year round! But I bet the wifi there is not as good….is that why the video might still be processing? Haha.
