Today I want to share with you my own favorite “basics” routine I do here and there when I want an extra upper body and abs bonus. It’s also a way for me to practice handstand. Just to let you know, it took me a long time to get to this stage. You might be able to progress a lot faster if you have more time each day to spend practicing the handstand exercises. All I can commit to is a few minutes of practice here and there on top of my regular ZGYM workouts. That said, you can still make a progress even if you’re super busy. I’m giving myself another year to progress into the 2 minute free standing handstand. I don’t care how long is it going to take me, I still have an entire life ahead of me 😉
This routine is really for everyone who likes to feel the burn. Your abs are going to be on fire after just couple minutes. You can add this after each one of your ZGYM workouts if your goal is to take your core training to the next level. Just follow along with me!

Yes! Thanks for this. Last Fall, I made a goal for myself to be able to hold a freestanding handstand for 15 seconds by my 60th birthday – which is this coming May. As of now, I can kick up against the wall and keep my feet away from the wall for a second or two at a time. (If I keep my feet on the wall, I’ve been able to hold for up to 30 seconds.) Getting that core strength is the key for me. Eventually I want to be able to press up, so these are perfect exercises for working on that. Thanks again for all you do!

Hi Lynn, I was reading through some of these comments and I read yours. I am 48 this year and so nice to hear other warriors out there that are defying “age” and being a beast. Good work! Hope I can hold a freestanding handstand at 60! Great job!! ( I grew up in eastern Washington) 🙂

Thanks, Cari! I’m betting you’ll be able to handstand at 60 – you’re already a warrior and you’ve got many years to work on it! AND you’re from WA. 😉

It’s a really tough routine! But great! I will definitely add it to my daily routine until I can hold handstand.

Don’t let this one scare you if you can’t do handstands, it’s still a good little ab add on!
[From a person who does not handstand and has nowhere to safely practice. 😉 ]

I love this! I am adding it daily or at least parts of it. I am still working with the ball, so the wheel will wait a little while but not long. Right now i am working on Black Diamond #5 until i can do at least one chin up on my own. I have a goal. I am incorporating my handstand and wall work from the Inferno series into this. I love how i feel after working on this stuff.
