For some reason the goblet squat to kick kind of hurt my knees (more of an uncomfortable feeling). Is this normal until you get more used to this exercise? I’m only 26 and regularly workout. And I’ve never had any knee problems. Any suggestions for this? Did anyone else have this issue? Thanks 🙂

No, it’s not normal. No exercises should cause you knee pain. I’d like to point out that it doesn’t matter if you are strong or athlete – there are a lot of athletes that get injured by even basic exercises because they’re postures are out of alignment which puts stress on the weight bearing joint including knees. That’s why I started posting Postural therapy exercises in the Zgym which use muscles to put the bones back where they need to be.

        Ashley and Zuzka,
I’ll be 53 in August and I do these workouts without a fear of pain in my knees because of that one point you say to us, Z: “Push off through your heel.” When I don’t push off from any of the deep bending moves, through my heels, I will feel a bit of a pinch in the front of my knees, on top. If I DO push off through my heels, I’ll feel it throughout my whole leg, but especially in my butt and hamstrings. I would think that’s the feeling I’m supposed to have!
Thank you for pointing that out, Z! It’s saved me from thinking I can’t do a BUNCH of these moves.
        xxxoo!
