This is the most intense 5 minute workout for abs I’ve done so far. The exercise ball provides so much instability to fight against, that your body has to put even the smallest muscles in your core into work which is exhausting and very effective for strengthening your abs. You won’t expect the crunches to be that hard, it looks so easy. WRONG! Give it a try and see how much room for improvement you have.
Workout Breakdown
Interval Training 10/40 seconds:
1. Roll ball knees to chest
2. Ball in the air crunches
3. Ball Transformers
4. Ball in the air crunches
5. Ball Roll pike toe taps
6. Ball in the air crunches

This was a GREAT wo Zuzka! Love having such a variety of exercises thank you for always keeping it interesting and keeping our bodies working differently each wo. I have to have my swiss ball against the wall when I do some of the exercises but eventually i’ll get my balance better. have a great weekend. can’t wait for tmrw’s wo.

this was sabotage on your members, Zuzi. At me at least definitely….My abs will sore tomorrow…and I think my legs will be complaining too:-)) but, this was really, really GREAT!!! We had kettlebel series, jump rope series…what about separate swiss ball killer series?

I don’t have the swissball and I know it’s not going to be as intense as it should be without it, so I’m just going to choose another workout from huge list we have at our disposal 😬

You can still do mods for next time. You can use a chair or bench and do the pikes and knees to elbows or use a smaller ball or even like a large water jug between your feet for abs. I switched to a Pilates ring for my 2nd round. This was a great one and hope you can try it too!

Thanks for the ideas Carla 😘 I know I can, but I’m lazy you know and I hate loosing time searching for mods when I’m not sure it’s going to be as effective. This workout is the perfect example of the kind of workouts I don’t wanna modify because it revolves around one equipment and it’s this tool that makes it so fun and so challenging. And as there are plenty of amazing workouts that I’m obsessed with just waiting for me, why even try ? Haha, but that’s just me of course 😬

wait – I did do my 5-minutes this am!
I did 60 crunches on my Swiss ball, with a 10-lb dumbbell, then I did 30 figure-8 KB swings with 20-lbs, as well as some stretches and dive-bombers.
BUT – for YOU, I am going to try these tomorrow before work.. 🙂

Whoa, those transformers are HARD on the ball!
Not feeling so hot today, caught a cold goin around, so 5 minutes was plenty. Tomorrow will probably be tough though.
