Hotel Room Workout from Boston

Fitness | October 21, 2013

Hi Guys!

I traveled to Boston last week and even though my days were really busy. I managed to squeeze in my mini workouts on each day! I was leaving my house on Thursday around 6am, and before I left I did 100 kettlebell swings. Then I spent over 5 hours in the plane, and slept through the flight for the most part. By the time I got to Boston it was a dinner time, so I just dropped my travel bag into the hotel room and went out for a dinner meeting. I was so happy that I did my workout in the morning, because there was no way I could exercise when I got back to the hotel room! My belly was full, my body was tired, and I fell asleep like a baby. I did set my alarm for 7 am so that I could do a quick bodyweight workout in the hotel room, and still catch a breakfast. Again, I was so glad I did it, because my entire day was just about meeting after meeting, and right after that I was sitting again in the plane for another 5 hours. As you can see, you can always find a little bit of time for a quick workout and that will make a huge difference for your health and spirit!

Here is the video I shot for you in the hotel room:

Workout:

1. Walk into the plank upward/downward dog – 10 reps

2. Jump Lunge – 15 reps

3. Jump Squats – 15 reps

4. Push Ups – 5 reps (you can do them off of your knees)

5. Backward lunge and jump up on one leg – 10 reps on each leg

6. Side Plank hip raises – 10 reps on each side

Complete at least 3 to 5 rounds as fast as you can while keeping proper form. Stick to the key points. Do not round your back, do not shrug your shoulders, tense your ab muscles during each exercise (tensing does not mean pulling them in, you want to tense them as if you were preparing to take a punch into your stomach). Don’t drop your hips during push ups, keep your hands lined up with your shoulders, and make sure that your knees are tracking your toes. Those are the basic cues to make sure that you are exercising safely.

Have fun on your travels and make sure that you don’t miss a chance to do your daily exercise 🙂

Best,

Zuzka

What an inspiration you are. I always tell myself to get up a little bit earlier in the morning to get my workout done, but until now I was too lazy. But those days are over now. It’s a lifestyle, a way of taking care of your body no matter what. And I am going to do that, starting right now!
