Avocado Mask

Fashion & Beauty | November 11, 2014

I’ve been really enjoying making my own scrubs and masks out of.. well mostly food. I mean if something is healthy enough to put it in your mouth, then why wouldn’t that be ok to smush it all over your face? Β Actually most super foods are somewhat beneficial to our skin, and there are endless combinations for all kinds of rubs, masks and scrubs you can come up with.

This one is made out of 3 common ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.

1. Avocado is extremely effective in moisturizing your skin without clogging your pores. It’s also high in vitamin C which is a natural skin brightener. Perfect for getting rid off dark spots.

2. Organic Honey will boost your skin’s hydration thanks to it’s natural humectant properties.

3. Sour Cream will give your skin a nice fresh glow. Most dairy products contain lactic acid which acts as a gentle exfoliant for your skin.

Instructions:

Smash 1/2 avocado with a fork until it becomes a past and then add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of sour cream (or plain greek yogurt). Mix well and apply onto your skin immediately. You can leave the mask on for 10 – 15 minutes and then wash it off with a clean, warm, wet cloth. Your skin is going to feel amazing!

i think i would eat the mask afterwards πŸ˜€ ’cause i couldn’t bear it to flush it down the basin πŸ˜‰ otherwise that would be food waste :'(

Good combo πŸ˜€ I like to do homemade scrubs once a month, with brown sugar, coconut oil and honey, but I never tried face masks actually, I’m definitively going to give it a try ! Thanks for the recipe.
