Casual Fashion

Fashion & Beauty | June 12, 2014

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word fashion? Is it a designer, expensive clothes that you read about in Vogue? Or maybe red carpet photos?  If you really think about it, what does it mean to you? I think that the word fashion could sound sometimes intimidating to someone who’s life doesn’t exactly evolves around fun shopping trips and flipping through women’s magazines. I’m really talking about myself. What do I know about fashion?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. To be perfectly honest, I couldn’t even care less about brands, designers, or what’s in right now. If I like it, I’ll wear it and that’s the extend of it. I’m just not knowledgable about the fashion industry and ever changing trends and I am not someone that can put the time and effort into focusing on that. Also I’m someone that appreciates clothes that can be worn to places where normal people go. When I say normal, I mean the rest of the 99% of the population that doesn’t attend red carpet events, award shows, and other parties requiring the latest creations from the top, well known, and fabulous designers. Even if I had a fabulous new dress from Gucci, where would I wear it? To the Zgym? Or maybe for a nice walk around the neighborhood? Oh no, I know! I could just wear it when I’m sitting all by myself by the computer all day…

I just like to buy clothes for a different type of occasions such as the weekend by the lake (which sounds amazing right now), workout time,  day at the office, or the classic dinner and a movie date. I have my own favorite pieces of casual wear just like everyone else that I’ve had for ages and outfits that I will probably wear forever. One them is a classic black v-neck sweater, distressed boyfriend jeans, and black wedges. I just love this combination and I wear it a lot. It’s a no-brainer to me just like a tank top and jeans, or cut offs and flip flops. I know how I feel when I wear it and that makes me feel comfortable. Shouldn’t fashion be all about being comfortable “in your own skin”?

Where’d you get the jeans and shoes? What designer/brand?!

Jeans are from G-Star and shoes are from Steve Maden. Both bought about 100 years ago.

It really doesn’t matter what you wear if you are in shape because you can wear anything with confidence. Confidence is a very attractive quality.

Spending a lot of $$$ to camouflage just isn’t smart or attractive. That Gucci handbag, $300 hairstyle, manicure, pedicure, Louboutin shoes, are not going to do anything for your soul or your health, in fact the inverse is true.

Zuzka you continue to inspire and look great! Thanks for your workouts!

Agreed! The best fashion accessory is a body that’s fit and in shape ! Anything will look good and one can wear with confidence anything !

I can’t justify spending heaps on ‘fashionable’ clothing since I wear pretty much everything to the stables and it gets covered in dirt, sweat and usually horse snot.

If it’s horse related I’m usually all for it though.

If people are looking to make a statement with their clothing, nothing turns heads like jodhpurs and dirty boots with chaps ;D

I like appealing style and design in everything, including clothes. It may be shallow, but many happy things are not very deep, like enjoying the sunshine or tasty food.

I do not mind wearing something marginally uncomfortable sometimes, like skirts and high heels. I think people look and feel their best when they are true to themselves. I like fashion and expensive clothes, so what the hell, that’s just who I am.

Zuzka, you by the way look fantastic in everything you wear, and you have a great style, even though you are trying to tell us that you do not care! Fashion and style doesn’t imply that you have to wear flashy dresses or tons of jewellery. Understated and simple can be much more powerful and beautiful.

I just like to wear casual and simple. I don’t care about brands on clothes but I do on the accessories. I love to wear a simple pear of jeans, white shirt with a Louis Vuitton or Michael Kors purse. I do LOVE purses…!!! 🙂

Comfort is king ~ that’s my ‘fashion’ motto. I’d wear jeans & t’s to work every day, if I could. At least we get casual Fridays. 🙂
