Summer, Treats and Crop Top from Guess

Fashion & Beauty | July 23, 2017

Guess-Top-Summer

If you have sweet cravings, go for whole fruit. Peaches are sweet, delicious and they’re in season right now, so make sure to include them into your diet. What I don’t recommend are fruit juices where the fiber is being wasted and all you’re left with is tons of sugar. If you like fruit in liquid form, smoothies are a much healthier option and even better if you mix them with coconut milk (or other form of fat) for better absorbance of the nutrients.

If you eat healthy ninety percent of the time, you become picky about what to indulge in. This is me yesterday enjoying delicious ice cream at Salt & Straw in Studio City, California. If you ever come to visit, you have to go to this ice cream shop. You will see peopleย ย lining up in front of the store as if they were waiting to buy tickets for a rock concert. That’s how good the ice cream is.

Try the lemon butter milk with blueberries flavor. It’s absolutely divine.

The important part of holistic health is balance. Food is not religion. You won’t go to hell by having an ice cream or dessert in a nice restaurant every once in a while, but I would like to encourage you to be picky. If you want a piece of chocolate, have the best piece of chocolate. If you have cravings for an ice cream, have a high quality crafted ice cream. You are special, you deserve only the best treats. No more cheap junk food. Agreed?

Hi Zuzka. I love your comments about sensibly adding in treats! I think it is so smart to allow yourself to indulge sometimes.

I have been a loyal follower for 4 years now. I completely love everything that you offer! I have a few questions though. How is it best to post them, so that they may possibly be answered?

You can leave you questions in the comments. I do my best to answer as many questions as I can, but of course it’s not a guarantee. I can’t promise to answer every single question. I promise regular training, and fitness/nutrition advice.

I love the mesage of this post, if youโ€™re gonna have a treat pick yourself the best one possible. ๐Ÿ™‚
Zuzka, have you ever considered a private FB group or something similiar just for ZGYM members? Where we can talk about various things and stuff like that. Was just thinking about that yesterday.

Yes an FAQ or Q&A section of the website would also be helpful. You answer a lot of good questions in the comments, but not everyone will find those answers.

I really agree. I wish we has a small message board for people doing the superfood plan. That way we could support each other, post threads on specific meals, substitutions, progress… just help each other through the 8 week process. I know it is alot of work to run a website though and there have been many great changes to this one lately.

Yes I’d appreciate that too, a specific and easy to find/follow discussion among those following the meal plan… I miss it!

I was just thinking the same thing this morning! Some kind of forum or message board would be awesome!

          Scott, we need you! ๐Ÿ™‚

Haha – I hear ya! We’ve been holding off on doing a full-blown forum since forums can get really complex really fast. Instead, I’ve been pondering a page that consolidates the comments and makes them searchable. It would be similar to a forum, just the thread titles (topics) would be the article titles. Also, thinking of adding a “tags” field to the comments so you can add hashtags to your comments that can then be searched as well. ๐Ÿค” #thinkingoutloud

Oooohhh, that would be great! I figured building a forum is probably a big project and you guys have a lot on your plates. I like the idea of the searchable comments and haghtags! Thanks for all you guys do!

I think you guys are doing a great job with the website. Still I like the idea of a FB page though. It takes the headache of maintaining the page away and let’s people chat.

Hi Zuzka. I just wanted to let you know that today is my 50th birthday, and in honor of that special occasion I did the 550 rep killer workout! I am so thrilled that I was able to accomplish this in 22:26 , because of your daily awesome workouts! I am a teacher, and a mom to an adorable 7 year old boy. Even with all of these things that are sharing my time, I am still able to take care of myself daily thanks to you. Thank you for all that you do. I am so thankful for you every day!!

Nobody thinks they will go to hell if they have ice cream : ) Pretty sure most of us here already had an ice cream or two cos you know its summer. You could just say you had the ice cream cos you fancied it and that’s it. I have noticed this endless justification people come up with every time they eat something that’s not kale. Not healthy.

Oh, if only. I know many women who are absolutely desperate when they “must” go to ice cream with kids and partners. YOu have no idea ๐Ÿ™ They feel bad, making pictures of themselves in the morning and after the ice cream, just to see if their belly grew or not. They dont enjoy anything like that and suffer. Truly suffer. One woman wrote me email about having anniversary with her husband and she was crying cause she didnt want to go only because she didnt know how much calories is her anniversary salad is going to have. There are many people who are absolutely afraid to eat anything different than what is on “their list” of “allowed” food. Crazy, I know. But this problem exists ๐Ÿ™

That sounds terrible. Maybe they could use some therapy for that. Pretty sure it qualifies as a psychological problem. I remember the time when I was a kid and food was just food. To be eaten when we were hungry. These days we analyzed the death out of every thing that’s on our plate. The endless guilt and fear about something so basic as food is plain ridiculous. Not surprised women are suffering like that. By the way I check your blog from time to time and it’s pretty cool : )

Katarina, that’s right, I believe it is referred to as “orthorexia.”

Kristina, what is the name of your blog? I’d love to check it out.

    I completely agree with you.
I eat 99% organic and I follow your workouts, and I see awesome results, but when I’m too happy or too sad or too tired, I want to eat cheap junk food like potatoe chips, burger, vegan cheesecake… It’s like I don’t want to realise this is bad for my body.
So I’m happy to read this post, I’m gonna be picky !

I love that outfit, Zuzka! I have a skirt and heels like that and I think I’ll make a top like that because I have fabric and elastic in my sewing box. There’s an ice cream place here where I live that makes their ice cream fresh in small batches that I haven’t tried since I’ve moved here. I love ice cream and need to go try it. ๐Ÿฆ

Love your outfit and your thoughts on working hard and enjoying a well deserved treat ๐Ÿ™‚ my thoughts exactly!

PS have you tried wearing the skirt higher at your centre waist? If the waistline still fits higher, it could be a cute more retro take on the outfit!

    hi Z,
any chance you tell us what your favorite style of jeans are. I know you have said you like Guess jeans but what style? Do you do curvy in order to accommodate more muscular legs? I find it VERY hard to find jeans that work with quads and smaller waist size. Anyone else?

I have different styles of jeans. There’s not one particular style that fits me the best. It really depends on that particular cut.

I am the same way! I struggle so hard to find jeans and when I do, I wear them so much they rip, usually the inside of my thighs, and they stop making them or i can’t find them. If anyone has reccomendations I’ll take them for sure as well!
