Workout Outfit from Lorna Jane

Fashion & Beauty | April 02, 2015

If you’d see how much exercise clothes I have, you’d think I’m nuts. I have two boxes, one for pants and one for tops that look like they’re about to burst. Maybe this is a typical women’s issue, but I seriously  believe that I have nothing to wear. Besides, I get more excited about my training whenever I get a new outfit. That’s why I’m really motivated to work every day towards having my own clothing line -soon!! 🙂

Until then, I’ll keep supporting brands that I like. I think Lorna Jane is on top of my list, because she creates exercise clothes for real women, while often times I feel like other active wear companies think that we all have bodies like long distance runners. What brands do you prefer for your workout gear? Is there a specific style of exercise clothes that you’d like to see more of in terms of style, or shape?

Yesterday at Venice beach.

Here’s a better view of the bra. What drives me nuts is that I’m such a bad model. This is exactly the same pose I did on the beach and then I realized that there are plenty of these type of  images all over the website. I was so frustrated that I had to at least flip this image horizontally in photoshop, so basically this is what the bra looks like in the mirror.

Here’s where you can find the bra and here are the shorts.

I could not agree more Zuz. If you are a stick, workout pants will fit. My waist is small and my hips are wider. Any time I get pants to fit in the rear they gap inches and inches at the waist. No brand works! I need a drawstring and most companies are evidently totally against this idea! It is completely impossible to find pants that fit. I teach fitness classes but I am 43 and need to be halfway decent in the way I dress …dang….

I have problems with pants too, like Cindy,I have a small waist & wider hips. I need pants with a drawstring,I have a pair of Adidas pants without drawstring, they were ok in the beginning, now as I hips have stretched them, they fall down when I’m doing your workouts – haha! 😀

Totally agree about Lorna Jane. Their tights are some of the only ones I can wear, because others always want to slowly creep down. I’m relatively thin, but pretty curvy, and sometimes that can make it a challenge with a lot of activewear brands.

Hmmm as far as what I’d like to see more of in athletic wear, my dream is to have more sports bra options in my size. I know of 3 brands that make a sports bra in a small enough band size and large enough cup size and I’ve tried them all. Normally my color options are black and white. I’m envious of the cute bras like Lorna Jane, but there’s not too much of a market for what I want 🙁

Realistically, I like lots of color options! I love the outfits you wear in your videos, so I’m sure whatever you come up with for your line will be fab.

You’re so cute Zuzka, maybe practice some poses in the mirror and then what you think looks good you can try in front of the camera. As far as workout clothes, I have nothing except for 2 super ugly bras. I find workout gear is so expensive and when all I’m doing is sweating and making it stinky then why should I care what I look like? I mainly just wear the bra and old shorts or tights. Nobody can see me so I don’t care. I’d like to have lots of outfits but it’s too much money.

There are some really good brands that look amazing and are cheap if you’d want to try them. They are Avia, Champion, and Danskin. Champion you can find at any Target and the other two at any Walmart. Whenever Kohl’s are doing sales, FILA is also good. I dunno, I also find that I’m more motivated to work out, and might even work out harder, when I feel that I look good so I also like to buy and wear great looking work out clothes. Maybe you should give it a try?

*haha* that’s so funny 😉 I’m exactly the same. I mean, I buy some new bras from time to time (I also need them for running) and new pants maybe once a year – but that’s all. I used to workout barefoot because I had no indoor shoes. Yesterday – after 3,5 years of working out with Zuzka – I gifted myself with a pair of pink nike trainers (they were at a discount and looked really nice and I thought I deserve them *g*).
So I workout in two different running-pants, a pair of supershort ones and a pair of longer ones and 4 different bras aaand since yesterday: shoes (from time to time) 😉

I am a clothes nut and love to buy new outfits but I rarely buy workout clothes. I workout at home so I don’t care what I wear. The only thing I spend any money on are bras since that is an important piece. If I worked out in front of a camera for millions to see I would want nice workout clothes though.

I also workout at home- exclusively, but in some weird way I want to look good and I always wear neat, sexy clothes 😀 I don’t know why but it makes me feel so much better. Maybe I’m smug, I don’t know. But it often happens that I spend more money on workout clothes than on regular ones.
Now when I’m writing this I realize that it may be stupid. But…If it works for me,maybe it’s not? 🙂

Magda, I have always been the same way. If I have a new cute outfit to work out in, I’m ready to tackle the next workout. I’ve often laughed at myself for the same reason. I work out at home, lol, but it still helps to look good in a new outfit.

I don’t care if you use the same pose again and again, I just wish I looked like you 🙂 Anyway, I tend to buy my workout clothes from Kohl’s because they’re less expensive but I’m still getting name brands like Champion and Nike and Asics and such.
