10 Week Arm Balance Challenge - Week #2
Fitness | March 31, 2014
I hope you’ve been having a lot of fun so far with our 10 Week Arm Balance Challenge and that you’ve been doing your homework. In case you missed the first week practice, make sure to check it out and start with the first assignment so that you have a good foundation for this week’s practice.
If you’ve been practicing the crow daily for at least 10 minutes, you should be pretty comfortable by now to hold the post for at least 15 seconds. That’s a good progress and base for our next challenge which is the side crow. I want you to keep practicing the crow on daily basis. Add the side crow and the hip opener stretches shown in the video into your daily practice as well but don’t spend more than 15 minutes a day with this challenge. It’s not necessary and from my own experience less is sometimes more especially when it comes to physical exercise. Consistency is far more important than volume so try not to miss a day.
Make sure that you are listening to your body and moving into the poses slowly in a controlled manner. Don’t ever rush into it and just in case, keep a pillow in front of you, because you don’t want to fall on your pretty face. It happened to me about 7 years ago on a yoga class which was actually quite embarrassing moment and pretty discouraging. I don’t want that to happen to you.
I really want you to have fun and enjoy this challenge. Don’t get frustrated or discouraged if you’re having a hard time balancing on your arms and taking your feet off the ground. We all have been there and those of us who didn’t give up were eventually able to stay in the pose for a second, then for 2 seconds until we reached the goal of 15 to 30 seconds. There are still many arm balances that I am not able to do yet, and that’s the reason why I’m doing this challenge. I decided to commit to you so that I would have to practice and get better. All you need is the commitment and dedication. That goes for everything. If you want to get in shape and stay consistent with your training, all you have to do is to make a commitment and workout with me daily in the Zgym 🙂
Have fun and share your photos on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. using #10WeekArmBalanceChallenge so that we can all find your pictures and see your progress!

I just have a question, you do both sides? or just one side of your body on this exercise?
