Today I’m using this really cool interval timer app Seconds Pro on my phone. As you can see in the video, the app has the capability to talk out loud and lead you through the workout, letting you know what exercise comes next. You can also set it to a simple beep for each interval and you can add your own music! This way you can keep your HIIT, Circuit, Tabata, and custom workouts and workout breakdowns in your phone which is really handy when traveling and your phone is the only thing you have always with you. The app is free to download and try all the features but if you want to save/import or share timers, you’ll need to make a one time purchase.

I love the Seconds Pro timer. I’ve have it for a few years now and its really useful once you learn how to use it 🙂 This is a great 5 minute workout Friday because I will be doing gardening and yard work for a neighbor this morning and its a perfect active rest day. I hope I will have visible changes for the contest. I’m in decent shape all ready but hope to show a lot more definition by the end of the challenge!

I was behind a day on the zgym schedule, so yesterday, I did Beginner Strength wo #1 and my arms still sore from it…And today’s wo was so though on the arms, especially the plank knee tucks, my arms were on fireeee ;-). The first exercise: toe touch to plank, I couldn’t do the transition fast enough from toe touch, turn over, plank jump easily :-0. Anyways, great wo!

I have tried that Seconds Pro app before and unlike everyone else, I absolutely hate it!!! It’s true that you can add your own music, but that app forces the song to change for each different interval and you can’t listen to a whole song or change music in between, because it will just change it again. I prefer to use an app called: Interval Timer – Timing For HIIT Training and Workouts. You can add your own music or change it from the app itself, you have the option to change songs at each interval or not and you can do everything that you can with the seconds pro app, however the Interval Timer is completely free and doesn’t require any purchase at all. Just thought I’d let you all know in case you want to try this app instead or are like me and don’t like that seconds pro automatically changes your music at each interval.

Hey Laila! Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you but I got caught up in some crazy business! The interval app I use is called Interval Timer – Timing for HIIT training and Workouts and it is by Deltaworks. It is my go to app for timing (mostly because I am a stickler about my music and use certain songs to help motivate myself or to push myself harder during specific exercises or just to listen to in general and I want to be in control of it, especially because I don’t always use the same song to motivate or help me push harder. I like being able to change the song when I want or to listen to the whole song.)
