Flying Pigeon Pose - 10 Week Arm Balance Challenge
Fitness | April 07, 2014
This is our third week of the 10 week arm balance challenge and if you missed the previous weeks, then please check our Week #1 and Week#2. I suggest that you start from the beginning, unless you are already good at Crow Pose and Side Crow Pose. In the third week of this challenge we are going to practice a new pose called the Flying Pigeon Pose. Watch the video to see how to practice this new exercise and then read on.
This challenge is slowly progressive and I am curious myself what 10 minutes a day of consistent practice can do for us. You may be asking what is this challenge actually good for? Well it’s good for various things. First of all it’s a change of pace for anyone who is used to working out with weights at the gym or anyone who’s been doing any Hiit or circuit training. It’s different from running, spinning or Pilates. You are working on your upper body strength including your abs and your flexibility and joint mobility in general. Remember that whenever you’re forced to work on your strength, you are creating the desired muscle tone that can’t be created if you’re not tensing your muscles. So this type of exercise is meant to help you get in better shape via fun challenges that will take your mind off of every day stress.
I would love to see you doing these poses so if you want to be creative, then post some fun pictures of yourself on your Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with #10WeekArmBalanceChallenge so that everyone who is doing this with us can find it.
Have fun becoming stronger and flexible and I will see you either in the ZGym or in my next post π
