The Right Time to Get in Shape

Fitness | May 19, 2015

The_right_time_to_get_in_shape

With summer fast approaching I know a lot of women are starting to panic about getting in shape or back in shape, losing those last few pounds and preparing to wear less clothing in general :). On top of that, weddings are right around the corner. Many of you may be in them one way or another as bridesmaids or even brides! On top of that, many of us will be looking forward to being poolside or, even better, at the beach lazing about in the sun.

One thing I always try to emphasize at the ZGYM is that fitness and wellbeing are not fads or trends or something to pursue just for events such as a wedding or a high school reunion or because the weather is nice. Fitness and wellbeing should be a part of who you are for the long-term. It’s about following a path to that leads to a better you from the inside out.

Rather than freaking out because of bikini season or a party where you want to look your best, why not stay consistent and always be at your best? Often, when we rush to get in shape or back in shape we make terrible choices. We starve ourselves which often leads to binges and we go nuts trying to workout as much as possible leading to injury not to mention mental and emotional exhaustion. Basically, we try to cram what should be a lifelong pursuit into a few weeks or months. Sounds terrible right? Fitness and wellbeing being should lessen the stress in our lives not create more of it!

A big reason why I tailor my workouts to be so short and effective is that you can basically choose how long or short your workouts are. Better yet, you can even spread your workouts throughout the day. For example, you could do three of my 5 minute workouts – morning, noon and night – in a day.

If you’ve signed up for ZGYM to follow my Summer Shred Workout Series and get into awesome shape for the summer, then use that opportunity to get on the right track with your fitness. Don’t stop with your training when the series is over. If you stick with the ongoing workout program, you’ll be able to stay in great shape all year round and for all the special events and moments that are waiting for you in the future.

P.S. The Summer Shred workout series started yesterday and we’re starting a contest to see who’s going to make a visible progress over the next 5 weeks of training with me daily. Can’t wait to see your before & afters! There will be 5 winners and each one of them will get the prize of 1. Being in awesome shape for the summer 2. $100 Amazon gift card. You can still sign up and start the program! Just check Summer Shred #2 – today’s workout for details!

So when exactly is the best time to get in shape and be in shape? Right now and always :).

    Hi Zuzka,

It’s not too late 🙂 you can enter anytime, just don’t wait too long to take the before picture and make sure you use a news paper or this post to take your photo next to so that I know it was a current photo.

It’s wonderful once you become addicted to exercise. I have to have it daily. 🙂 I will admit that now for summer, I’m watching my carbs, so I’m not consistent on my diet. I eat fairly healthy, but I do drink and indulge in french fries and carbs when I’m drinking. 😛

Do I hang on to the “before” picture and send it in the same time as the “after” picture?

Aw man!! This is so cool! I would reeeeally love to subscribe right now and do this challenge! But I’m still a beginner and I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with the regular HIIT workouts yet. I was waiting until I got more strength with the beginner workouts to subscribe… Maybe that’s just copping out?

    Hi Zuzka!!

I´m so excited because I’ve being working out with you everyday and I am the happiest woman since that day! So, when I read this, I got even more motivated to follow because I´m getting married next august 1st.

I agree with you about being consistent with both diet and exercise if you really want to feel good, buuuut I definetely want to look even better for my wedding and I don´t know what to do… I do the workout program with the second workout everyday but I´m not sure if instead of doing the second workout, do the beginner cardios mixed with the summer shred program as you suggested :S

    Could you help me please??

And wow!! Zuzka, I have to tell you that You are really my inspiration everyday!! the way you look is just perfect!!

    Greetings!! 😀

    K
