The Right Time to Get in Shape

With summer fast approaching I know a lot of women are starting to panic about getting in shape or back in shape, losing those last few pounds and preparing to wear less clothing in general :). On top of that, weddings are right around the corner. Many of you may be in them one way or another as bridesmaids or even brides! On top of that, many of us will be looking forward to being poolside or, even better, at the beach lazing about in the sun.
One thing I always try to emphasize at the ZGYM is that fitness and wellbeing are not fads or trends or something to pursue just for events such as a wedding or a high school reunion or because the weather is nice. Fitness and wellbeing should be a part of who you are for the long-term. It’s about following a path to that leads to a better you from the inside out.
Rather than freaking out because of bikini season or a party where you want to look your best, why not stay consistent and always be at your best? Often, when we rush to get in shape or back in shape we make terrible choices. We starve ourselves which often leads to binges and we go nuts trying to workout as much as possible leading to injury not to mention mental and emotional exhaustion. Basically, we try to cram what should be a lifelong pursuit into a few weeks or months. Sounds terrible right? Fitness and wellbeing being should lessen the stress in our lives not create more of it!
A big reason why I tailor my workouts to be so short and effective is that you can basically choose how long or short your workouts are. Better yet, you can even spread your workouts throughout the day. For example, you could do three of my 5 minute workouts – morning, noon and night – in a day.

I totally agree with you and have been working out with you for over 5 years now and the results really show, both in my body and especially in my more stable mood – but that being said, I do am getting married this september and I do want to tight it up a bit, so I’m very happy for the summer shred series 🙂 Although, working out consistently has never been a problem for me, it’s more the diet part that I’ve been slacking on lately (too many “goodie days”), so I hope the summer series will also help me to eat less starchy carbs and cheese.
Anyways, thanks for the good work you’re doing, without your workouts my life wood be a lot more stressed and rushed! You’re such a motivating person Zuzka!

Love this post and love your workouts,Z,they are the best and they do work as no other workouts out there of course evenly with the healthy lifestyle and diet as we know that fitness is not a quick fix,its a way of life.
Have learned so much from you and i am able to adjust your workouts now so that i can have more fun with them and actually enjoy working out and sometimes i even can’t wait to do a particular workout of yours and the best thing is that i can always squeeze in a 5 min workout even on my busiest days.
And Zuzka you have always been in perfect shape but gosh i think you are the best version of yourself now than you was ever before also you are getting more and more educated about everything and you have came a long way since ,so keep up the good work ,you inspire and motivate me always,thank you! xox

You are totally right Zuzka. I have been following you since September 2009! Working out has become a natural ritual. I workout as I brush my teeth everyday. ( well…I take one or two days rest, and still brush my teeth!! :)) It’s a matter of living a healthy life on a DAILY basis and not only for a special event, summer ect… We only have one body and it deserves to be well fed with nutritious food every day. Consistency is KEY!

Just started following Z last year and I’m annoyed I wasted my time with other workouts and trainers in the past. I am so happy I found you Z and Zgym. I’ve always loved to workout but not like this and now I know how to follow a proper diet with my training. Thank you So much Zuzka!

That’s so true. I know many people that are trying to lose weight by taking irrational diets. Nobody’s listening to me when I say that it’s bad.
