Hey guys,
Today’s workout is focusing on upper body and abs and I want you to give it a try and not get discouraged by the first exercise. Watch the beginning of the video to see the easier modification for the dynamic push up and don’t be afraid to give it a try. I’ve been thinking today how awesome it is to see how many women of all ages are now interested in fitness and getting strong. It wasn’t like this when I was growing up, and I’m glad that we now know that age is just a number and that it’s never too late to become a strong, and confident woman. If you’ve been working out with me for a while and you’re over 30 please leave me a comment below and let everyone know how much you love your training. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one over 30 that has fun working out 🙂

Hi everyone! I turned 40 this past year and have had 2 children. I’ve been with Zuzka for almost 10 years….I remember just you-tubing videos for new exercises and found this blonde goddess doing weights in what looked like a basement!. Been with her ever since 😍. I taught fitness classes prior to that for a decade and was NEVER in as good a shape as I am now. Better health and physique at 40 vs 20…? Yep!
During the time I’ve been with Z I have gotten many people to join and passed on her name TONS, so no telling how many recruits! I keep thinking that there should be a way when you sign up to say how you heard about zgym and be able to insert a members name…and maybe for a certain number of memberships through that persons name earns them rewards or a free month?
I am so thankful for all that you do Zuzka and boy would my fitness life suck without you!!!

Hi Zuzka. I turn 41 this month and I’m in the best shape of my life thanks to you. You’re amazing!

Im 32…. I started being serious about exercise when was 28 and have followed you since then. After 25 I couldn’t eat whatever I wanted anymore without gaining weight lol. I think I am in the best shape I’ve ever been, even better than when I was in the army in my early 20s. 🙂

Hi Guys! 31 here and mother to 4, from the US. Discovered Z in 2010. Finished losing 50lbs with her after my second pregnancy. I had an off year during 2014 where I didn’t do much in part because of a series of moves and some major life changes (including the 4th pregnancy), I find myself yet again trying to lose 50 lbs. since January and thanks to joining the new Zgym, I have lost 25lbs. Half way there!!! Zuzka has been and will always be my favorite. I preach her to whoever will listen. 🙌🏽😊

Hello! I’m 38 and have been working out with Zuzka for years – never once got bored or stopped learning new things! I credit Zuzka and her workouts with a fit and healthy pregnancy, and the fact that I can still swing a kettlebell, do pistol squats, double unders, pull ups and clapping push-ups at almost 6 months pregnant! Can’t praise Zgym enough 😊

I am 35 this year & can do things I’ve never been able to do before…pull-ups, chin ups, dynamic push-ups, arm balances, cartwheels….And I feel great. After about a year & a half of ZGym I either keep up with Zuzka or beat her. 🙂

I’m 41 and have 2 kids. I discovered Z after the birth of my first son (back when she was BodyRock). She has gotten me in such good shape. I always worked out but I never really pushed my boundaries until Z. I remember that first workout, I did it on my back porch while my baby slept in his little seat and I thought I was going to throw up before I finished it was so hard for me. I could barely walk for a few days after my body was sore sore. Now I feel so strong and bad ass. I love that in ZGYM I don’t ever have to worry about my workout – it’s just ready for me and I can count on it kicking my butt. LOVE Z!!!!!

Hi another BodyRocker! I am 38 and have exact same story as you! I started Body Rock after my first child too and I can do push ups, pull ups, pistols and working on my splits. So fit from my daily Z workouts 🙂

This was great! Nice upper body, abs, obliques.
I completed also exactly 2 rounds with 3 seconds to spare. The only change I made was that I kept my feet together for the push ups (I wasn’t thinking). I think this is a lot harder than with legs wide apart. I definitely know I can do more than 2 rounds next time.
Love the oblique work. I’m very petite and have more narrow hips, and all this oblique work we’ve been doing lately has been toning and wittling my waist. I like that I have 6-pack now (it’s not anywhere as defined as yours, Z, but I don’t really want it to be. 🙂 🙂 ) and my upper abs have tightened up more, which creates a bit more of a curvy figure. I have always wished I were curvaceous. Even at my heaviest, my body just never put fat in the places

necessary to make an hourglass shape. But oblique work definitely makes a difference there. 🙂

Haha! I feel young, although I find that the sense of responsibility and discipline of my peers that are at my age are generally……….lacking. I go to school with people of varying ages, but most are in their late 20s to late 30s. Most of my friends are in their 30s and 40s with a few who are closer to my age. I find that I don’t relate so well to people my age. I think it is because of the extremely high level of discipline that is required in my field, both at school and at work.
You know, Fernanda, I was never able to do any type of split before. Ever. Not even when I was a little girl. I was always jealous of the girls in elementary school who could do front or side splits. I am 26 now and finally have achieved this. Age means nothing!

Ya that is true! What do you study? If you could give me some tips and exercises to help me with splits I would love it (when you have time…of course). I improved a lot with splits after regular yoga practise but I am still not touching the floor! I will keep practising…see you, take care.

I’m not sure why, but your other comment doesn’t allow me to reply. I am in a Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine program. I have a year left, and then have to take licensing exams. I think plan on doing the Doctoral program, but I’m not sure when.
As for the splits, I just did the various Power Yoga routines that Zuzka offered for splits and hips, etc. In those videos she shows how to use the kinesiological method to achieve a split. I took that piece from her videos and added it to the end of my workouts, starting last October (I think October?). I think by Februrary or something I was able to go into split both sides. Also, in the beginning I used my blocks.

Lo and behold, her Power Yoga routine today answered my prayers, and probably yours, too! It is a side split routine! I swear, just do what she does, take those parts of the routine, and do them for at least a minute each day.
I think what she offers is more effective than the traditional “just sit in split for 30 minutes”. Like, who has time for that????? I don’t!!

Hi Francesca … You’re so young and mature… I’m old enough to be your mum , will be 51 this year ! I enjoy reading your comments about the workout. And Fernanda too. Always so inspiring and motivating . Love the ZGym community 😊
